Add "remove video content" option to Spotify Family

Please add an option to "remove video content" to Spotify Family! Since video podcasts were added, my children now watch videos on Spotify instead of listening to music.  I had given them unlimited access to Spotify (unlike other apps) because it was only used for music.

All you'd have to do is add another toggle for "remove video content" next to "Remove explicit content".

Spotify Kids is not an option for us.  My children are teens and tweens.  And because they're teens and tweens, they have a very difficult time turning off compelling video content (just like some adults).  If Spotify becomes just another screen to stare at, I'm not sure we want to keep our Family membership.

This has been logged for well over a year now. How has it not been done already? It really can't be hard to only allow audio for video content, or even disable all video content completely.

You are seriously slacking here Spotify. Surely you must understand parents concerns over this? It's bad enough that your explicit filter still let's loads of tracks with swearing through, but now you're letting kids stare at their phones all day on what is a music app, not video, music.

I understand your need to evolve and compete, but you have to allow granular control for parents to disable new features they don't want their kids using as you do so. And please don't suggest Spotify Kids. You have a glaring hole in your offering for anyone between the age of 6 and 16.

I hadn't considered Apple Music. Loathe as I am to give them any money, that might be a good solution. Thanks to those who've suggested it!

It doesn't work to put the kids on a Spotify Kids app when they are in their teens. The content is not appropriate. But as parents we would still like to have their account for just music and nothing else.

As a parent and family account owner I want the ability to disable podcasts and/or video playback for kid accounts within family plan

It is now possible to watch pornographic content on Spotify. That must not be!

Just discovered this issue after realising that my daughter was bingeing on dodgy social media influencer videos when I thought she was just using Spotify to listen to music. I am not an anxious or controlling parent, but I am genuinely shocked that Spotify allows this without any controls.

I've tried to raise it with Spotify support - but after an hour of online chat the best they could offer was to tell me to turn on the explicit content filter. Unbelievably poor service. It might also be legally changeable, at least in the UK where I am, to expose children to online content with no protective features. I am looking into legal and regulatory responses now.

As a parent I would like my kids to be able to listen to podcasts and not watch them. Currently Spotify is becoming yet another platform to watch people speed run video games. The idea is to be able to toggle (on/off) the permission for a child account to have access to visual content on podcasts.

Any news here @Spotify? We've also recently discovered that the screen time limit for YouTube app has been exceeded by simply changing to Spotify (which we've allowed without limits for Podcast/Music).

Additionally to the mixed-media issue with external speakers I'll change the Family subscription over to Apple Music soon if this is not fixed.

Unfortunately my children have also doing the videos. I love giving them the freedom to discover new music genres and having new conversations about artists they have found. The videos take this all away. All my boys want to do is watch videos.

They can no longer go to bed with their tablets to listen to Spotify, damn shame.

We will likely be cancelling our family plan.

This is ridiculous!  Does anyone who works for Spotify have children?  Is anyone paying attention to this issue?  How is there not at least a simple option to specify "music only" for child accounts?  This is something that should have been built in from the beginning.  I don't want to switch to Apple Music but at this point it seems that we have no choice.
