Add "remove video content" option to Spotify Family

Please add an option to "remove video content" to Spotify Family! Since video podcasts were added, my children now watch videos on Spotify instead of listening to music.  I had given them unlimited access to Spotify (unlike other apps) because it was only used for music.

All you'd have to do is add another toggle for "remove video content" next to "Remove explicit content".

Spotify Kids is not an option for us.  My children are teens and tweens.  And because they're teens and tweens, they have a very difficult time turning off compelling video content (just like some adults).  If Spotify becomes just another screen to stare at, I'm not sure we want to keep our Family membership.

There needs to be a Spotify Tween/Teen.  Explicit lyrics, and lyrics that contain references to drugs, alcohol, violence, **bleep** automatically blocked.  Parents should be able to bypass the block if they disagree with the filter.

I see this as an essential feature for parenting - protecting children - both in terms of inappropriate content and screen time

> case in point: My child viewed a video podcast that freaked her out. Note the content was not explicit: just theme age inappropriate (and disturbing).
Astonishingly on my own device I see zero video podcasts (Android): where are for my children (ios) get pushed the latest videos.
Since I do not see the same kind of UX: it is hard to know what they are seeing.
I have done all possible in the settings to disable videos - for them - but it still shows up.
Note: One child on her request has already removed the app ... unless this feature is added soon we will have to cancel our family account, and move to another service

Been a couple of months since I first came here.

I learned that "managed accounts" are rolling out slooooooooooowly.

Hurry up and implement that everywhere for goodness sake, Spotify. At least give some reason why you haven't yet!

Again, side features are dragged into the main frame. I don't want to see video in my home screen, this is Spotify not YouTube. And in general, suggested music belongs lower on the scroll 📜 and if you product dudes think otherwise, why not make a user preference out of the new 🆕 home 🏡 screen ? as I already suggested over a year ago. And BTW, the related music 🎶 videos banner would be nice, had it appeared consistently somewhere down the scroll.

Hi,

What would "managed accounts" add as features to Spotify compared to Family accounts?

How did you learned that information?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @pcalve,

Its a feature set they are trialling in new zealand i think. It basically provides pincode access to all the settings on the managed account. For example being able to deactivate adult content, and the managed account holder cannot change it back without the pin.

Hi @Paul-MM,

Thanks for your reply. I think that feature is great, however, I think disabling all the videos on the platform is not even an option you can do for yourself? So managed accounts are great but the "disable all videos whatsoever and everywhere" shall be available as well.

I'm I missing something?

Thanks again.

Please add this option to any premium accounts actually. It's not only about kids- I too do not want to be sucked into watching videos on an audio app. I have never watched any videos on it and turned off Canvas, as it is all too distracting. I am neurodivergent and not being able to control video options is very distressing

Winymint

I am totally disappointed that after all this feature is still not delivered or considered.

I am thinking to unsubscribe to Spotify, as this is potentially dangerous for kids.

Buenas tardes.

No quiero imágenes en movimiento en spotify.

Quiero SOLO audio.

Estoy seguro que muchos usuarios piensan lo mismo.

Creen una opción: NO QUIERO VIDEOS EN MI SPOTIFY.

Muchas gracias
