[Ads] Ads Filter

I know we can't pick and choose what ads to see, but at least for a teensy bit of decency (especially for people listening to spotify in a professional work environment) can we not have half naked Victoria's Secret super sexy models?

Personally, I could care less about ads. And in fact, I am a woman who shops at Victoria's Secret. Still- I just had an awkward moment with some coworkers AND my boss. I'd like very much for that not to happen again. In the very least, how about an image that isn't half the size of the window?

I know no one's going to agree, and believe me, I'd be the last person to complain about spotify (it's awesome). But seriously, it's a bit much.

Thanks.

The half naked Lizzo sponsored ads on the home page of the desktop app needs to go away. It's the homepage takeover one!. It’s extremely inappropriate. Just showed up today. Get that garbage partial nudity off the home page!

Also I got the Trojan man commercial twice yesterday the “sexy world with people having s e x everywhere”  one. You guys are so immature for allowing those ads.

Looks like after all the past comments in the last 42 hours that garbage apps have been a issue.

I've had instances of the same awkward & suggestive "Sexual Exploration" condom ad playing over & over withing the same hour & visual ads with naked women, barely covering themselves, pop up on the screen. I know the whole suggestion of "change your age on the account" & "get premium," but not everyone can or chooses to afford premium & no matter what the age, there are people like myself who prefer not to listen & see this kind of stuff constantly. (Especially while in a work or family setting.) Its getting pretty ridiculous & I find myself using Spotify less & less while turning to other music streaming services when this occurs. I don't want to leave Spotify, but I want a family/work friendly place to listen to & organize music.

WOW. 38 minutes after commenting on hear complaining about inappropriat ads, a "self help book" ad loudly curses inbetween the songs I'm listening to. How is that OK when not everyone is cool with it & people also like to listen to music with family, children & at work.  They're really making it hard to feel comfortable listening to music on here. I feel like I have to be on stand by for inappropriate audio & visual ads.

This is an issue for me as well. Last week I encountered an ad to listen to an album completely unrelated to my typicaly music  taste. This isn't an issue in and of itself, but when the ad is of a completely naked woman, that is not okay. While not enough anatomy was showing to make the ad "explicit," it still is completely unacceptable. Spotify makes money off free accounts by showing ads, I get it. But if I can opt out of explicit music, I should be able to opt out of explicit ads as well. Spotify is a music service, not a pornography service.

10 points from Spotify.

BaxtorBro
As well as ads for music with explicit lyrics, created by Spotify! So this
isn't just an issue of producers making inappropriate ads, it's something
in the company as well.

The home page takeover on desktop app on the summer party playlist with the half naked ladies I don't need that. Grow up.

It's 2019; it is still an issue; I know I am over 18 but my roommate is not over 18; it is super awkward; and not even exaggerating: 15 minutes a condom ad? seriously?

So its 4am in the morning, I've spend the day studying and find it difficult to sleep at night. Listening to some spotify while reading and trying to zone out, some shitty Horror Movie ad pops up on my screen followed by a bunch of screaming..... Im forced to stare at the ad (Which is litterally my entire screen) to try find a "I don't like this ad" button to find out after 30 seconds of staring at this shitty ad, there isn't one.....

I don't mind ads, sure its annoying, but I understand Spotify is a business not a charity but theses shitty ads need to stop.... seriously. I let my cousins who are 12, 10 and 6 use my spotify, if I freaking out over that ad imagine how horrified my cousins would be? they'd be scared for life... The ad is not curated, I don't search for things like this... Oh to add on that that, I keep getting Spanish Ads??? I live in New Zealand, Spanish isnt even a language 1% of the population speeks...

I was on Spotify premium for about 3-4 years and recently stop, was thinking of  coming back, but after this I think I might just use YouTube... as their ads are acturally curated. To put the cherry ontop of the cake, ever since I've been on Spotify Basic the app on my phone has started to freak out whereby an ad pops up, I dismiss it try to go back to the main menu, the same ad pops up, I dismiss it and it brings me back to where I was before going to the main menu... and its also that stupid ad with some creepy looking clown makeup lady/dude which covers my entire screen.... seriously just inappropriate... I have friends looking over my shoulders thinking I'm some weird dude searching up some**bleep** on my phone.

Please Spotify, fix this? curate the ads or give us Spotify Basic peasents the option to dislike an ad... Spotify Basic is really alot worst than it was like 4 years ago. I'm going to try get some sleep now.... if its possible....

we are using spotify at home around our 2 year old and those horror ads with screaming and demons and stuff keeps coming up. this is not ok and there has to be a setting to protect children from this kind of content. we simply can't afford premium but enjoy playing music but is this a way to punish us?

reading through here it seems many people have an issue with those ads but sadly SPOTIFY doesn't seem to actually care or give any solution.
