[Alexa] Multiple Spotify Accounts for Amazon Echo

My wife and I have our own Spotify accounts. On Amazon Echo, you can create your own profile.  It would be great to link your own Spotify account to your own Amazon Echo account.

Thanks!

Haha I did the same thing. It's just annoying having to waste an account like that.

Using separate amazon accounts sounds like it will work. Gonna try that on
my alexas. Amazon if youre listening GOOGLE HOME doesnt have this problem.

Yep, I'm seeing a lot of advice around setting up multiple Amazon accounts,
setting them all up on the household settings on Alexa, and then assigning
a spotify to each.

That seems to "solve" the problem. Now I have to set up Amazon accounts
for kids though, not a fan of that.

Actually, that doesn't work (at least not for me). It just says "only the primary Alexa user can use Spotify". What I had to do was set up a dummy Spotify account that was unused in my family plan + link it to the primary Alexa users Amazon acct. that way no ones Spotify stream gets interrupted when they're out of the house. Annoying work-around, but it's the best I've come up w/.

Thecoldvein - multiple amazon accounts will still not work on multiple
alexas on a single family spotify account. Only the primary spotify account
can stream, which means that no matter if you use different amazon accounts
the spotify stream will stop if you try to stream on another alexa.

Please add this capability...  Spotify family plan is wonderful, but severely limited in a multiple-choice home.  Ideally, you would allpw up to 6 concurrent streams on the master account for family premium members or else the ability to assign different spotify accounts to each echo.

This is ridiculous. I have a separate Amazon account set up for each of my two Echo dots.  I have linked one family member's spotify account to one of the Amazon accounts and my spotify account to the other Amazon account.  But I still get cut off when trying to stream spotify from both devices simultaneously.

EDIT:

Okay, actually got the above setup to work correctly after re-linking the original dot to my spotify account.  I still think the family plan should simply allow up to 5 streams from 5 devices regardless of which account is using the device.

It's a **bleep** joke that we do not have this option. Bye bye Alexa

I'm pretty sure it's Spotify that only allows one account per device. I could be wrong. Does anyone know if Google Home has the same issue?

We just got our second Echo, so now we have 2 Echos and 2 Dots. Up until now we have made it work with my and my wife's Amazon/Spotify accounts used on different devices.

But now we really wanted to be able to play three of those four at once. So I made an Amazon account for my 5 year old 😡 and linked it to his Spotify account. It works in that I can play music on that's Echo.

However because Amazon have limited Household sharing to two "Adults" I cannot add his Amazon account to the household. So that Echo cannot access the shopping list etc. and is invisible to my wife and my Alexa apps. It's severely hampered its usefulness as an Echo. 😤
