I really appreciate Spotify allowing you to change your display name.

I get that the username is used as ID, so this is a good solution if it weren't for one thing: The URL of your profile.

If you created an account before your username started being random letters and numbers, it will continue to show your username.

So if you were to change your display name to be something else, whatever you named yourself might show up on playlists and what not, but the old username will continue to follow you in the URL.

And I get you can't simply change the URLs to be the same as the display name, since from what I've seen, you can have identical display names, and that would get messy.

So I think it would only be fair that if on request, your URL can be changed to something else.

Maybe put a limit on it, so it can't be done frequently.

I think that would just be great for everyone who feels like completely getting rid of old names they're embarrassed of and what not.

**bleep**, I would be fine even if the URL just followed the same random number and letter formula.

Just give us the option to do it at least.

It would just be helpful and make the whole name changing thing as good as it can be.

I would like for Spotify to allow us to change our usernames. I know that the display name can be changed, but many of us want to change the actual username. Sometimes it’s because we don’t like it, it has numbers, or for other reasons. It could be included in the annual plan, and users would be able to change it each time they renew their annual subscription. The other idea is that you have to pay to change your username.

We’ve been requesting this for years, and I don’t think it’s too difficult to implement, especially for a large company like Spotify.

please give us the option to change the username I know it's possible to do it with display name but it's so annoying to have an automatic username and not being able to change it bothers if you have a personal information as username and everyone can see it on web version

I have a problem that my friends can't find me with my display name. But I can't change my username, unfortunately I chose a complicated one randomly a long time ago. My idea would be that users can change it themselves or there should be a possibility for someone to do it for us

I have an issue that is not fixable now. I want to change my username, it is not my name that is there, before it was a sequence of numbers and letters, people could chose their usernames. Now i cant change that, the name that is there is from a friend of mine, so i cant share my profile because people get confused when they see a name that is not mine.

Just in case someone needs to change it for a reason then they can (and its a better system then a randomly generated username (sorry spotify)

This would also be useful for divorced people, and people who would like to share their playlists online without getting doxxed.

Allow user to change their usernames on Spotify. Some of us have embarrassing usernames we set when we were a lot younger 😅

I think that most of us who created our Spotify accounts when Spotify became a thing would really like to be able to change our usernames without having to make a new account, as many of us probably have usernames that are old and outdated. I know I do. I would like to be able to change my username to something more fitting. Would you?

i got doxxed because of my username so even if i only get the option to get the random numbers instead, i'd take it! please spotify, i want to share playlists with people, but as it currently stands, i cant :c
