[All Platforms][Podcasts] Option to disable or hide podcasts entirely

I don't listen to podcasts and don't intend to. But it currently takes up valuable space in both the Spotify mobile app and also in Android Auto. It's annoying having to see podcasts all the time when I don't care for them and don't want to see them.

Is it not reasonable to just have a toggle to show podcasts or not?

Hey everyone,

Thanks for coming to the Idea Exchange and for bringing us your continual feedback. We also think this is a great idea and that there's an opportunity to make it happen, so we're looking into it further.

We'll post here when we have an update - Stay tuned!

Why haven't they addressed this simple fix? It irritates me every day that I have that **bleep** Joe Rogan forced in my face every time I login.

no update in 6 months on implementing a feature to disable unwanted recommendation?

look, i understand that on an executive level, someone decided they needed to justify the investment in joe f*cking rogan, and so a) recommend him to everyone; and b) don't allow us to remove that recommendation.  i'm certain it would tank someone's bonus to let us filter out sh!t like that.  it's eventually going to backfire.

Things will only change when many users cancel their Spotify account and switch to other providers. That's exactly what I'm going to do. This month was the last month I transferred my money to Spotify. I'm moving my family account to Apple Music or Deezer.

Bye Bye Spotify.

Just voicing my opinion that it's ridiculous we don't have this option. I don't want to see podcasts.

I pay for Spotify to listen to music. I don't care about how much money they wasted on Joe Rogan. Stop forcing podcasts down my throat. I listened to a podcast episode without realising (because it was a song that wasn't previously on Spotify (so pretty much stealing from the actual artist but anyways)) and now this podcast is permanently on my homepage on the "My Shows" section. I don't understand why the don't give us the option to remove podcasts from that section its dumb anyway you think about it. However judging from the other ideas with thousands of votes they will not do anything about out. Joe Rogan ruined Spotify SMH.

Hey Spotify team,

If you need help implementing this feature let me know. I can give you a hand and I'll do it for free. How hard can it be, right? 🙂

I hate this so much that whenever I want to listen to a podcast, I use a different app! So your usage patterns don't get all inflated to justify this being parked (although marked as Live, lol) for almost a year.

Making this available for paying customers is the bare minimum.

Kind regards

Heimdall

Hello,

First post in the spotify community.

I don't think I can say anything that hasn't already been addressed in previous posts, but I want to say I absolutely hate seeing podcasts first and I hate even more not being able to choose not to see them.

I've been a premium customer for almost 10 years and the fact that spotify is trying to force me to listen to their crappy podcasts is seriously making me think about going elsewhere.

Please fix this problem quickly.

An annoyed customer.

People on top of Hiding/removing can we make sure we check for Podcast episodes cover art? Some very explicit ones keep popping up and I can't block/remove them. Also, it does not look nice when you switch to Carplay and you have kids in the car... please make it an option to hide/disable podcasts or the section entirely if possible. I did not pay Premium to be bombarded with unwanted explicit/irrelevant podcast options.

Another +1 to removing the annoying podcasts. Before it was annoying, I can hide the promoted music but not podcasts? C'mon that's not why I've been paying Premium for more than 10 years.

But now every time I see Rogan's ugly face I get incredibly angry and want to close and unsubscribe. And gosh damn it, it's still a useful service, but you're forcing me to reconsider it every time I launch the app.
