[All Platforms][Social] Allow us to change our username (at least once)

Ok I hope to God that you guys don’t shoot down my idea this time, I already feel as if I have no voice  or say in anything that Spotify does. And speaking of having no voice or say, I’ve been a Spotify user for years now. And my username was always the same as my display name. However, the day I change my display name, my username was changed to a bunch of random  letters and numbers, and I have to type in my email instead. I learned quickly that Spotify doesn’t allow users to change their usernames for identification purposes, and I understand that. But I already had a username and they changed it to a bunch of random letters and numbers, so why can’t I change it? This frustrates me so much and if this suggestion gets shot down, like my last one 🙄😑😔, I’m canceling my subscription. Thank you. 😕 (also I chose community for platform bc I can’t figure out which platform label I should label this is).

As a trans person, I'm even willing to have an option to change my current deadname username into random alphanumerics instead. It is more tolerable than seeing my deadname. I refrained myself from linking my Spotify account to discord, and sharing my profiles, playlists etc with my new friends, because the undesirable username is in the URL. Display name does nothing to obscure this. Creating a new account and losing playlists, followed artists, history, wrapped is not an acceptable workaround.

I believe that this could be somehow implemented if, like other platforms, there was the option to change the username while keeping them all unique just showing the "this username is already taken" message when any user is trying to update their username, that way we get customizable usernames and we also have a unique ID to keep identifying each account from one another

yes!! i had to move accounts to change my username and even still it just auto-generated it! even tho on support forum i picked a username i like the normal spotify username still annoys me as it is a VERY long string of numbers and letters and I have to use my email on each login

When I copy my URL to share my profile the like contains my old Spotify name (Which is problematic for me currently) - I would like to change that so I feel more comfortable.

just make people have an opinion on there usernames and let them change it its easy
