[All Platforms] "Don't Like Button" should be added to all sections

Hello everyone,

I am not sure why it keeps changing between updates, although in the past Daily Mixes have the Like & Dislike button. But this time around it has been completely removed and is only available Under Your Weekly Discovery.

It would be nice if the "Don't Like Button" was added everywhere, from Weekly Discovery, Daily Mixes, even when searching specific songs, albums, genres etc. to better filter our music preferences.

Also I find on Android on the drop down menu the Don't like button rarely ever works and have to enter the app directly. Like always works perfectly fine.

I would appreciate it if this could be considered.

Thank you

What is the latest on this now, Spotify?

I'd like to be able to stop certain songs from being played, like ever. I lost my best mate and now there's a ton of songs that I don't particularly want to, or can't listen to again, yet Spotify keeps popping them up in it's automatically generated playlists and I have no way to stop them from being played. This is either on the Windows desktop app or on the Android mobile app.

It's a bit ridiculous that we're not given this seemingly obvious option to stop songs from being on playlists, or given the ability to block songs app-wide on our accounts.

this needs implementing it's a basic feature!

JaybirdV

The old feature to block specific songs from ever appearing on recommendations was a godsend.

Removing that feature was a mistake. The current 'dislike' feature feels useless and purely decorative due to the fact that it doesn't even stop the disliked songs from playing. Users now have no surefire way to escape feedback loops, because after nearly any genre of song/playlist, it will recommend the same 15 songs directly after - so if they aren't religiously hitting the skip button the algorithm never registers that the songs it keeps playing on repeat after everything are now on the hate list, and even then, skipping doesn't actually seem to tell it to avoid the song either.

Spotify was once an ideal portal to truely discover new favorite arists and songs, but now all it does it loop the same selection without ever actually introducing anything new to its users. The experience has become bland, and at times even irritating. It may be best to provide a way at which people can take control of their algorithm to avoid feeling trapped with the same old sound.

Using myself as an example, I have several thousand songs 'liked,' but no matter what changes my taste endures or what new songs I manage to discover, the recommendations have remained completely stagnant for months, most of the songs I've been actively disliking - yet they continue to appear regardless.

I find it annoying that spotify constanly recomends podcast's  that I'm not intresred in. there is only the options to like, save or share. but no option to tell your algorithm I don't like it.

Increditble that this is even an issue. It's a no brainer any good product owner should see

I fee like the fact you can hide songs in other playlists that aren’t you own / albums means you should be able to for your own playlists. Now you may be asking why? I feel like depending on the day / mood some songs don’t go right but there is no point in removing them though so you can un hide them another time. Thanks! Hope this is added!

Oy vey ... this "Good Suggestion" has well over 1200 votes, but after over FOUR (4!) years, it still hasn't been tackled by the dev team, much less implemented?!?? I guess I better don't hold my breath.... 🙄

I too, by the way, find it incredibly strange that a "dislike/hide" apparently seems unclear to the Spotify team. I don't get it: If I tell you I don't want to hear a certain track, why on earth would you keep playing that damn track for me anyway??? Why is such an incredibly simple thing apparently beyond your algorithm's comprehension????? And, if I don't want to hear that track on one device, OBVIOUSLY I don't want to hear it on another device, either.

Having stated the above, I will say that there might be some instances where I hide a song in a certain playlist because it just doesn't fit into that playlist, but I actually don't mind the song (meaning that I would still want to hear it on its respective album, or on a different playlist). So, for that purpose, I think we should have both a "hide" feature - which would apply to specific playlists, albums, etc. - and also a "dislike" that acts as a unilateral "NO, I NEVER WANT TO HEAR THIS AGAIN" for any given track. And they should both SYNC. Pretty please, with sugar on top.

There is this option to hide a song in a specific playlist, but it ONLY hides that song in that playlist.

What I would love to see is an option to 100% block a song. I don’t want to see that song in any radio station, artist profile, playlist, discover weekly or wherever. Sometimes you hate certain songs, especially when they are trending at the moment.

Absolutely ridiculous that this isn't implemented. What the **bleep** is the point of such a feature, if you can only use it on 20% of content?

fansaint

I love the personalized playlists but I would love to see a feature where you can click on a dislike button to stop that song from being recommended or being in playlists like daylists.
