[Android] swipe down current playing song view instead of tapping the arrow

On iOS you can swipe down the view where the currently playing song is shown. I've also tested YT Music, Deezer and Amazon Music apps on Android. All of them implemented the same behaviour. Only Spotify on Android is not able to let the user swipe away the currently palying song view. Instead I have to tap on the arrow on the top left end of the screen. In a world full of gestures and much too large smartphone displays, that is inacceptable!

Its mind blowing I even have to come here and comment on thus forum to get this "feature" added.

On Android, it's impossible to swipe down on the Now Playing screen to get back to where you were (i.e Home, playlist, etc). With the current implementation, you have to tap the down arrow at the top.

My suggestion would be to allow swiping down on the album art or anywhere on the screen to swipe down the Now Playing screen rather than only allowing tapping for a more fluid experience.

Please finally implement this feature. Do not discriminate against Android users. Please finally implement this feature. Do not discriminate against Android users. It's quite simple. Just add swipe down to close the player and swipe up to open the player.

Im waiting for this feature for soooo long now, there even were community Submissions on this Topic years ago. I'm always thinking about if I should cancel my spotify plan just because it is so annoying to not have this feature for years on android.

ClovisCheminot

It was already annoying to not have this feature. Now with the new design it's even worse as the down arrow seems to indicate a possible movement.

Yes, this feature is a much needed one for many users. Please add the swipe up option on the Now Playing to maximize it as well as swipe down to minimize it. This will give an seamless experience.

it's crazy that this isn't a basic feature from the start, do they think we all have thumbs the length of chopsticks to reach that button one handed??
