Please add an optional Audio-Only / Studio Mode that completely removes visual media from the Spotify experience for users who prefer to focus solely on listening.
This mode could include:
- Hide music videos.
- Hide Clips.
- Disable Canvas animations.
- Display static album artwork only.
- Remove video recommendations from Home, Search, and artist pages.
- Prioritize audio content throughout the app.
Benefits:
- Distraction-free listening: Ideal for producers, mix engineers, musicians, audiophiles, students, and anyone who wants to focus on the music instead of visuals.
- Better critical listening: Motion naturally draws attention away from the audio. An audio-only experience makes it easier to evaluate mixes, arrangements, and production.
- Cleaner interface: A simpler, less cluttered experience for users who prefer Spotify as a music platform rather than a multimedia platform.
- Improved accessibility: Helpful for users who are easily distracted or find constant visual motion overwhelming.
- Lower resource usage: Potentially reduced CPU/GPU usage and improved battery life, especially on laptops used in studios.
- User choice: This would be completely optional. Users who enjoy videos and visual content could continue using Spotify exactly as they do today, while others could opt into a dedicated listening-focused experience.
