Restore the old android widget

The new widget sucks. It's too big and has extraneous **bleep** on it. Restore the functionality of the old, bare bones widget. All I want is a single line that says what's playing and has skip forward/back and play/pause buttons.

Agreed, anyone know if YT music has a widget that does this? I'm genuinely considering switching because of this, my phone is slow I don't want to have to open spotify every time I want to restart a song and even still it looks AWFUL

I voted and commented on the other one, but ill do the same again here. The new widget blows. I currently have the old widget and spotify next to each other on my singular home screen. I have no other app pages because I do not need them. This update requires me to now have another page SPECIFICALLY for this app. Its also some complete horse S H ! T that i cant pause updates to the app to stop this from happening. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING that you guys can still control our apps this way. Give us back the old widget or ill gladly move to Pandora

Really rubbish change to the widget. I was happy with the 3x1 widget where I could control the song and see what was playing. Now to have the same sized widget I have to go into the app to control the music. I've been thinking of going to YT Music and this might just push me there.

Fr, the new widget is really bad. It looks terrible and half the time it gives me a "tap to refresh" message, but tapping to refresh doesn't even work. If they keep this widget, I'll probably just not use a widget because it's so frustrating. There was no reason to change the widget anyways,  the old one basically worked perfectly. Drives me nuts that we pay money and these are the updates we get. Please fix this, Spotify, and don't change things just for the sake of change.

Agreed. If I close spotify for a while it also keeps saying "Spotify is offline" and then the app won't launch from the widget, which is adding extra steps to access it. The new widget is worse in every possible way.

Spotify claims the new forced 4x2 widget can be resized to 4x1. Not true for me. In these last few hours they brought back the most basic and important function though which is BASIC previous, pause/play, and next track. I see these "new" features, but still cannot resize to 4x1 like they claim. Just leave the 4x1 widget alone, it costs zero cents to do NOTHING TO IT.

 well, it can be resized, but its absolutely useless to be resized if it cant fit in the same space as the previous one with the same functionality

The new widget doesn't even work! It's just a massive block on my screen that just gives me the loading dots. It's **bleep**ing terrible. Who thought this was a good idea? Give me the old widget back please.

Thin and Minimal, Give me controls, show me what's playing. I already don't like widgets on my screen so IF you want to live there make more options or bring back the old version. I also use a 5x8 layout so again, make more options.

I totally agree with all the comments above !
Don't say we can resize it 4x1 if it doesn't work when resized.
We don't care switching playlists from there, we want play/pause button and next/previous song.

This type of **bleep** you do really make me want to leave for deezer or yt music !
