Hi there,

I think many users get annoyed by those "local" recommendations that are based on the country that is chosen by their payment method.

E.g. I'm living in Europe, where English language is not local language, and I'm getting recommendations for the local songs, which I don't like, and I'd prefer English music over that, is there any chance I could change my country of recommendations to US or Canada?

This is hilarious. I tried finding a solution for this, finding threads dating back as early as 2014. The only real reason I can find is that Spotify hates customers not from the country they are currently in. Why else would they deny us this very simple feature, that lots of other apps have, for no reason for so long?

Allow users to change what country their recommendations stem from. I live in the uk but am originally from india, I would like to be recommended indian music and not british music

Hej. It’s 2022 and is this request still as “not right now”? Are you joking? It’s super annoying to still have local recommendations when I don’t listen to songs and podcasts of the local language here. It’s a simple algorithm to change country of recommendations.

It has been nearly five years and I have just received a 4 year badge and this is the only topic that I have ever been on. Still nothing is changing this is ridiculous.

I know this suggestion is super old  and is marked 'not right now', but all the good suggestions are marked as such. Please reconsider?

Spotify is recommending a lot of Dutch music, but I don't ever listen to that, at all. Ever. Never have on Spotify, either. Still, when I check 'about recommendations' it mentions that 'the recommendations are tailored to your unique taste' when they really, really! are  not.

'In some cases, commercial considerations may influence our recommendations, but listener satisfaction is our priority and we only ever recommend content we think you’ll want to hear. Our recommendations rely on signals from you, so keep on listening to the songs and podcasts you love!'

I understand commercial considerations but... literally all these suggestions are commercial considerations? None of these recommendations are based on what I listen to. There's a similar suggestion out there for podcasts.

Please allow us to remove the bad recommendations.

I'm pretty sure all of Spotify's competition have this very, very basic feature.

I guess they figure it doesn't matter what they do, they'll still keep customers.

Kinda like Trump's "I could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and I wouldn't lose any voters"

Everyone, I tried to talk to one of the advisor from the support side of Spotify. Hope they'll give us any updates soon because i'm having the same problems as you guys
