[Browse] Allow to change Country Origin Suggestions

Hi there,

I think many users get annoyed by those "local" recommendations that are based on the country that is chosen by their payment method.

E.g. I'm living in Europe, where English language is not local language, and I'm getting recommendations for the local songs, which I don't like, and I'd prefer English music over that, is there any chance I could change my country of recommendations to US or Canada?

Thanks

I would like more suggestions from international content. I'm based in italy and only get italian podcast recommendations.  I mostly listen to english language content and would like more suggestions based on this.

The recommendations mentioned here refers to regional language music recommendations. I don't listen to them and they're just a bother.

2023 and still not implemented ....  useres have asked for this since 2016.

Here I am again, resubscribed after 18 months just to find out that the problem is still not solved. I hate opening the app and seeing the first page full of music that doesn't interest me at all. Yes, I selected "exclude from your taste profile" but still in vain.

Cancelled again, see you most likely in another 18 months.

I've been getting a bunch of splash banners on my home page even though I'm a premium user of Spotify for the last xx years. I mean, if the content was relevant to me and how I consume content on Spotify, this would be tolerable. But this was straight up irrelevant podcasts being promoted to me just because I'm geolocated in a specific market.

Incredible communication. Spotify asks their users for feedback and when feedback is given, the answer is „not going to do it because we don’t have any plans to do it“.

What a ridiculous waste of everyone‘s time and energy. If that‘s the best Spotify can do, you might as well close the community forums.

I cancelled my Premium because of this.

Hi, we're having this issue as well since we just moved to a new country. We had to change our account settings and are now getting local recommendations instead of what we actually want. Let your paying users customize their home screen. It's been a popular request for at least 7 years.

I would suggest adding a language filter option for podcasts, I live abroad and when I want to search for a new podcast I have to waste time searching for the right podcast with the right language. When I go to the "search", "podcast" option, all the podcasts are filtered according to my location (which I never set, nor is it the same as the language I'm using the phone in).
Maybe even more allow listeners to set a geographical preference, in my feed I get recommended local playlists (as well as podcasts) that do not match what I am used to listening to, want to listen to...
I'd like to argue that this suggestion is different because it's been three years since you last looked at it.

I live in South Africa, where music consists of hitting sticks and cans together. And now this AI DJ that is pretty cool, keeps playing the local music here. Do you have any idea how trash this is? PLEEEEEAAASSE allow me to somehow remove local music recommendations and remove it from the DJ and app completely. I'm not even allowed to change my region in my profile settings, unless I am in the country? What nonsense is this. I know this suggestion will fall on deaf ears, as clearly in all these threads, Spotify never listens to their users. What the point is of this community website is beyond me. Terrible.
