If i hate a song, then I don't want to hear it ever again. All of us run into this on an hourly basis. Every single day. Why in the world cant we dislike (or thumb down) a song to remove it from existence? Why do you torture us by playing songs we don't want to hear?

There is a "hide" option (only on mobile), and its playlist specific. The desktop version doesn't even have this somewhat-useless feature.

So I vote for a universal dislike button. No playlist limitations. No desktop vs mobile limitations. No buttons hidden in submenus. Just a simple, easily accessible button that can eliminate our headaches once and for all.

I'm going to send them a message asking for a dislike button in Daily Mixes on the Desktop version. (In fact I'd like to have on for every situation in the App.) You may want to consider contacting Spotify Support about this, too. It's just too important a feature to wait another 5 years. It wastes our time, and it annoys us, it messes with our mood. Plus, I'm planning on upgrading to the Spotify Premium Lossless service once it's available and I really want to feel good about that choice then. I also think it will help with their algorhithm.

least not visible to final users.

@DJ_Palmis: Yes! The algorithm keeps generating the same suggestions. Some tracks I've skipped so often already..  I love the suggestions - great for finding new music. Blocking tracks or artists or even playlists would be a great addition.
