If i hate a song, then I don't want to hear it ever again. All of us run into this on an hourly basis. Every single day. Why in the world cant we dislike (or thumb down) a song to remove it from existence? Why do you torture us by playing songs we don't want to hear?

There is a "hide" option (only on mobile), and its playlist specific. The desktop version doesn't even have this somewhat-useless feature.

So I vote for a universal dislike button. No playlist limitations. No desktop vs mobile limitations. No buttons hidden in submenus. Just a simple, easily accessible button that can eliminate our headaches once and for all.

Dear Spotify Support,

I'm writing to you today as a long-time, deeply frustrated user. I love Spotify, but I'm at my wit's end with your music recommendation algorithm. It's simply not working for me, and it's ruining my listening experience.

It shouldn't be rocket science. Here's what I, and I'm sure many other users, desperately need:

• Dislike means DISLIKE: If I dislike a song, please, for the love of music, NEVER play it again. Not the song, not the album, not the artist, not similar artists – NOTHING.
• Skip means SKIP: If I skip a song within the first 3-5 seconds, it's a clear indication I don't like it. Please apply the same "never play again" rule as with dislikes.
• Play to the end means PLAY MORE: If I listen to a song to the end, it means I enjoy it. Please, please, please show me more songs, albums, and artists with a similar vibe.
• Like means LOVE: If I like a song, it means I REALLY like it. Add it to my favorites and shower me with similar-sounding tracks.

Is this too much to ask? I'm a paying customer, and I rely on Spotify to discover new music I'll love. But instead, I'm constantly bombarded with songs I've already rejected, making the whole experience incredibly frustrating.

I'm begging you, Spotify, please fix your algorithm. It's not just a minor issue; it's the core of your service. And right now, it's failing miserably.

I use this feature to hide the first track of an album I tried but didn't like. 

As an active searcher for new releases, it saves time if I see a greyed out track "Ah, I DID try this already"

Please add a feature where I can block (a) Artists, and (b) individual songs, from ever showing up on a Spotify-generated playlist.  When you've put a song in my "discover weekly" that I've seen 5+ times prior, it's not "discovery", it's frigging annoying.  When I get a song that actually annoys me in there, now I can't even remove it from that one "discover weekly" playlist.

I'm very upset that the "Hide" was removed from my Discover Weekly, as it's exceptionally annoying to listen to songs I don't like over and over and over.  It kills the whole advantage Spotify has over radio.  I've taken to listening to the radio, as annoying as that is, a LOT more since this feature was removed.  Maybe I need to start getting local MP3s from Amazon again?

The algorithm keeps pushin "speaking" songs and artists I don't like because they oberlap a lot with things I do like.

The Dislike and the "minus" from generated playlists was removed now, I have to skip them all the time manually, which is really annoying

I have to add: Even setting an artist to "Don't play this artist" still plays the artist if the song has them as featured artists.

Hello. It's true that some choices offered by Spotify are confusing compared to our tastes. It may be to make us know other atmospheres or styles. But when we don't like it, we don't like it and it's true, we shouldn't insist. For example, I don't like rap, so there's no point in sending me some, it doesn't work.

Could you add thumbs up and thumbs down buttons to songs? For example when I listen to playlist made for me, I could give more input how well algorithm works. And get better suggestions.

I agree on majority of this, however when disliking I would either like a location to find and review them or maybe for spotify dj to go "Now this may not be for you but 1 year ago you disliked these songs, lets see if that's changed" obviously not all of them at once, or some other spotify playlist for this function. Personally when I skip in the intro window it can sometimes be because it doesn't scratch that itch or hit that spot that im looking for.

However to add onto what you did say, when spotify plays artists you dont like but still plays some of their music or adjacent artists, and not sure if its spotify or its google but when you get recommended artists based on local listening activity such as other peoples cultural music in their native language and thats the furthest thing you want, but because you work with them 6 shifts a week spotify thinks thats what you want.
