[Desktop] Keyboard Hotkey to queue Track(s)

I often browse my playlist and would love to be able to just quickly press something like the Q key to add the selected song(s) to the queue. Now I have to use my mouse again and it gets pretty annoying to quickly add songs to the playqueue.

 

Would love to have it more work like it did in programs like WinAmp. There you could just press Q to add the song to the queue, select multiple songs and in the playlist queue you could easily rearrange the songs. Now in Spotify it's a little harder to perform these things.

I've made an AutoHotkey script that sort of helps with this situation, but your mouse does need to be over the song you want to queue for the hotkey to work (it works by issuing a right mouse click). It's here if anyone wants to check it out. If you're not familiar with AutoHotkey and just want the executable, those are here.

Everything Audio-related / App-related / Experience-related is set to "Not Right Now" and it is quite infuriating. You'd think 2020 would give Spotify time to improve the app but no. It's been the same for years with little to no improvement. The execs shopped around to make exclusive deals but is not even caring about the end user's experience with the service.

  1. You should have a hack on laptops for queueing music. Eg: Command; F (proceed to click on song) will add song to queue. It would be far more efficient rather than clicking with the mouse over the computer. Speeds computer hand movement to a minimum. Similar hacks for: go to song radio; go to album etc.

Dear Spotify, common!

 

It's not that hard to implement a shortcut to add something to the queue. 

 

The original suggestion is exactly what I'm missing.

Im really thinking to quit Spotify. I have been premium user since 2012 and still there is no shortcut. It should't be hard to add such a thing but seems like Spotify just doesn't care.

I'd like just a small button (it could be shaped as a forward icon) next to the "Save to Your Library" and "Remove" buttons of every song in any playlist and album.spotify_queue_button.jpg

We're literally a decade into this thread XP haha. Spotify is lackin. The other apps I use for music let you assign keyboard shortcuts for most functions (which can be a pain if you don't vibe with their default shortcuts, but at least its something). Would this really be that hard to implement? its not like there are already keyboard functions that theyd have to overwrite... The "queue" button seems most intuitive though
