[Desktop][Other] Update the Spotify app icon for macOS Big Sur

As a lot of new macOS Big Sur users noticed, the general system UI changed, and an important aspect is the various app icons. All the Apple apps icons have been updated to match the new rounded square type icons that seems to be the new trend, and several third-party apps already did it.

The amazing Spotify Community already shared multiple ideas of really stunning logos that look pretty sick :

Hello,
As you may know, in macOS Big Sur, the app icons changed and became like iOS icons. They are now all squares and 3rd party apps are applying this design choice on their Mac apps too. However, after one year, Spotify still hasn't changed its icon to fit this new unified design. It bothers me to see it being different from the others on my dock. Can you please change it to look like Big Sur icons like everyone else did? I feel like it wouldn't take much time and effort.

Make an icon so it fit all apple devices. because nowadays there are no round shaped icons. So please! so ugly with the round icon you still have.

You guys are ridiculous! This thread had gathered the necessary amount of votes on 2021-06-15 already and was supposed to be forwarded to the internal teams. Why in the world would you mark this as a new suggestion now? Logging in I got a bunch of notifications about some useless badges but a basic request like changing the icon to match the OS style is being ignored? Comes close to your failure with the German language using the widely rejected gender slang. Shame on you.

Just common sense to change the icon so it fits in the ecosystem it is in.

In MacOS you should really update it, even if people is still on older versions om MacOS. But there's difference like in Windows all icon are different so it still fits there but when you don't update your icon on MacOS it feels like Spotify doesn't should exist on the operating system.

Just my personal opinion but I don't see them updating it. The Spotify logo is a circle and so keeping the bright green circle makes it more recognizable instead of adding black space around it like the iOS icon. When people post a screenshot of their Mac the Spotify icon will stand out as one of the few apps with a circle icon. It's good for marketing. And Apple doesn't require the icon to be a certain shape, it's just suggested.
