[Desktop][Podcasts] Mark as Played

The feature to Mark as Played that's available in Mobile should absolutely be available in the desktop app also. Why is there a feature disparity between platforms?

Hey everyone,

I don't know about anyone else but I've officially given up on Spotify for podcasts for now which sucks because some of the shows I listen to are becoming Spotify exclusives.

*The lack of BASIC features that apparently will only get implemented if submitted to the Ideas board and get enough votes is so dumb. MARK AS PLAYED. MARK ALL AS PLAYED. I don't have time to mark all 500 episodes of MBMBaM, 300 episodes of The Adventure Zone and 450 episodes on The Doughboys that I've listened to as played on mobile ONE AT A TIME to then have it not carry over to the desktop app. And that's just 3 of the 20 or so podcasts I listen to.

*The syncing between mobile and desktop is bad. You should be able to turn off your computer and have the podcast resume in the car without issue. Pocket Casts does it just fine.

*Auto-play is terrible. Just finished an episode? How about listening to the latest episode of a different serialized podcast you haven't caught up on?

End of Rant. Thank you for your time.

This is what you get when your company goes balls-deep into agile. A fractured product offering across platforms with features entirely driven by the community.

If spotify wants to take over the podcasting sphere, this feature is essential.

if you want to truly be a player in the Podcast world this should already ahve been part of it.. especially since the progress bar is unreliable at best when switching between mobile and desktop app.  it is puzzling though as I can control the music no matter what device it plays on from my phone so you already have the phone set as the 'source of truth' so why wont it dictate what has already played too?  please add this soon.

Seriously, fix this. I love Joe Rogan, but I would rather stop listening to him than having to go through 1400+ podcasts and mark them manually as played

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that mark as played is useless anyway?  I've been marking side/commentary eps as played, hoping that Spotify will skip them and play the next unplayed main episode, but it just plays the next episode in the list, regardless of played/unplayed status.  What's the point of marking something as "played" if it doesn't do anything?!

This still hasn't been implemented by Spotify. I would very much like this as well! It used to happen, then one day just stopped.

This is basic podcast functionality. Come on Spotify! Thought you were going big time on the podcast game? Sort it out!

This feature is already implemented in the mobile versions. It shouldn't be too much to do it for Desktop as well

It's crazy that this feature still hasn't been implemented. The most basic of podcast-listening features.

Any recommendations for alternative apps?
