[Desktop] Select default sound device for Spotify Connect

Currently Spotify defaults to using the default sound device when launched, it would be neat if you could choose which sound device you want to use instead in the options screen.

Thanks

I only have 1 sounds device, but looking around the community, this is a much needed feature!

Being a new Spotify user, I was surprised to find this basic functionality is totally missing... I mean, after implementing playlists, this is the second must-have feature for a music player on PC. What good does huge collection of music do, if it does not play back to correct output..

Hi.

Looking for the same feature.

Found this program called "Fidelify" which have that exact possibility, it's a replacement for the Spotify client.

It's in beta version, but will be updated in a couple of weeks (at least that's what I read in the forum), mine didn't show the playlists, could scroll through them but didn't see the text, so good enough for me, but I can at least choose a different audio playbackdevice than Windows default. Here's a few links:

Forum that is recommending this program: http://superuser.com/questions/366986/change-spotifys-sound-output-device

The actual program: http://www.fidelify.net/

And a norwegian forum where the creator "talks about the program" (In norwegian 😉 😞 http://avforum.no/forum/generell-htpc/113775-fidelify-high-fidelity-spotify-client-asio-wasapi-convo...

Using Fidelify for playback using my Spotify- login.... Been using it for a few minutes now, and works lika a charm so far. 😄

Hope this helps you guys until Spotify manages to get this feature implemented in their program.

Ffs, please do this; I want to be able to record ingame footage without it recording the sound of spotify.....Such a simple thing to add 😞

Yes, such a simple series of code to add, I'm sure, to let us hang that much more usability. Even if it was only a premium option, I really like Winamp's visuals, and can use them with LineIn add-on - it produces visuals according to what your stereo mixer picks up. But as soon as I use SPDIF, I have to use another program called Virtual Audio Cable to get Spotify to play through SPDIF while Virtual Cable links my SPDIF with a Virtual Line-In so the stereo mixer picks it up. I even tried linking my analog with my line-in on the back of my PC, but it just produced a static signal. *sigh* PC gives such freedom for the user, I hate it when programs have restraints like that.
