I saw the previous threads related to translation which is really cool. I would also like to request a transliteration into english language feature as English is a global language. I'm form Pakistan and English is pretty common in this part of the world. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and majority of the South East Asian countries share the same culture. Urdu, Hindi and Bangali are major languages in these region. But I would argue majority of the Bollywood songs are in Urdu because of its intricate vocabulary, poetic depth, and strong influence on lyrical expression.
It would be incredibly helpful if Spotify could introduce a transliteration feature alongside translations, allowing users to read lyrics written in scripts like Urdu, Hindi (Devanagari), or Bengali in the English (Latin) alphabet. This would make it much easier for listeners who understand the language but cannot read the original script to follow along and fully engage with the song. Such a feature would greatly enhance accessibility and user experience, especially for audiences across South Asia and the global diaspora who are familiar with the spoken language but more comfortable reading in English.
It would also help new listeners connect more deeply with regional music and appreciate the nuances of the lyrics. I strongly believe this addition would complement the existing translation feature and further Spotify’s mission of making music accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
