[Mobile] [Other] Smart Shuffle toggle setting in settings menu

Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

Is smart shuffle used to generate ad revenue? Or do you just go out of your way to put songs on that I don't want to listen to? I really just want to just listen to the music that I have chosen.

Please, please, please let me disable it permanently on my account.

And while we're at it stop turning these rejected features back on when you update.

This isn't a new idea, people have been asking and you have been ignoring them for years. I want to listen to what I want to listen, not what your dickhead algorithm has in store for me.

You know what was helpful? The ability to quickly reshuffle your playlists, which you can't do anymore, why? Because it five seconds for smart shuffle to infect my playlist**bleep** I won't be listening to and then another five seconds to remove them. You killed a good function to push your algorithm**bleep** onto people that don't want it.

Please God add this already. It's been long enough

Hello there,

Another user annoyed by the smart shuffle feature here!

Even when it is disabled, it still adds smart shuffle song to my playlists 😞 This is evil. For public playlists created by Spotify, that's okay. On the other hand, there is a private playlist, created by me - it still add smart suffle (even when it is off!!! ) 😕

Please, I am not paying for this.

This sh*t IS so boring! How can anyone admit that they haven't done anything yet? For such simple line code to be implemented? They're hiding something from us

Cedd12

Turn it off, no one wants this feature.

If I'm paying premium, I will not have your **bleep** shoved down my throat and pay you for it at the same time, I ain't into that.

I don't want to go and pirate all the songs and rip them from your app, in order to create my own playlists locally and use another player to actually play the music I CHOSE.

I really don't want to do that. But you should be aware that I fully can. And there's plenty of methods to do that, which work damn well, mind you. By adding **bleep** like this and let's be frank, FORCING YOUR PAYING USER TO**bleep** THEY DON'T WANT, you will damage your income early or late.

You could do the |=uck1ing right thing and actually listen to user input - thousands here, thousands in your app reviews, thousands in other forums, and add the option, something which even a junior engineer would need less than half an hour to add, but yet you CHOOSE not to.

Using those scripts to rip your playlists and download them as m4a/mp3, is getting more appealing by the second, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way.

If you're not going to repond it a timely manner, your app is in shambles. Mods keep filing increasingly niche posts (mods - thank you) under the same heading. To Stopify (intensional misspelling), it's been over a year. If you're not going to fix it, if your ad revenue is worth the loss of members - please by all means, jam it down our collective throats.

I switched to Deezer 3 months ago & haven't looked back. People will go elsewhere if they have no recourse.

I keep coming here to check if any positive changes have been made. The answer from Spotify is 'no comment'.
