[Music] ASIO Output Support

Please can you add support for an ASIO audio output device?

As a owner of a separate headphone DAC + Amp, I get much better quality music when I'm using the bit-perfect ASIO output rather than DirectSound, which changes the audio bitstream before it reaches the DAC. ASIO output would be a great compliment to the Spotify high-quality streaming.

Thanks!

You should select the Hifi cable as the default device, then open ASIO bridge software and choose ASIO device

Then click ASIO OFF.

Now you should hear the DAC.

Thanks very much totalmega! I got my DAC working with ASIO bridge. I did a lot of a/b comparing. It was tough for me to hear much of a difference. My son, however, heard a definite difference - clearer voices and more bass! So ASIO Bridge shall be my default playback device of choice!

I add myself to the crowd asking Spotify to enable ASIO output!!!

It would also serve Spotify by enhancing its reputation as a "sound sensitive" platform, not just a mainstream music streaming service.

People have been asking for ASIO compability since 2012 and still nothing from Spotify. Why have "extreme quality" in the songs if you cannot use ASIO... Like having a Formula 1 car driving on a **bleep**ty dirtroad...

You're God darn right! I dont get it. It cant be so hard to add this feature. And they can unlock ASIO output only for premium users and get another tool to gain more money. I can see the campaing banners right now: "Do you want clean music and not the distorted windows output? Use our premium ASIO output. Hear the difference NOW!" 😉

A lack of ASIO or WASAPI support is the main reason I left Spotify months ago for Tidal...

I agree with "People have been asking for ASIO compability since 2012 and still nothing from Spotify. Why have "extreme quality" in the songs if you cannot use ASIO...".

4 years !

It seems incredible.

Too hard to program for Spotify ???

Added my vote. Let's hope that it's the straw that breaks the camel's back (wishful thinking perhaps?).

526 votes over 5 years.Yeah, I can see why they haven't felt the urgent need to spend money on programming this feature. That being said, with the ammount of money they rake in from us chumps who pay for premium it'd be nice to see some of that money manifest in the form of higher quality streams (320kb just doesn't cut it), better library organization tools, greater customization (visualizations, skins, etc.), plug-in support, and maybe a type of community workshop (think Steam) where things like plug-ins themes/skins or even visuals could be made and shared, installed and supported by audiophiles like us.

Adding my voice to the list of people asking for asio support!

I use asio4all for my drum machine, as it's far less laggy than the windows default, but I want to be able to drum along to Spotify, but can't!
