[Music] Custom Start & Ending Times for a Track

Hi.

I'm a big electronic music lover and there is only one feature i would like added to spotify. The option to choose a part of the track i would like to play and have the settings saved.

In the world of electronic music there is almost allways 2-3 minute build ups, and not many radio mixes of each track.

This can be a problem when having a party and a track lasts for 7 minutes with 3 of them is a buildup that not everyone would like to listen to.

It would be nice to have a feature like this that i can change on each track, just drag 2 buttons to a start and end point. and maybe have a 3-5 second fade on where i choose to set them.

Made a quick illustration on what i mean. Spotify proposition.jpg

Spotify finally did it. The new update has been released and now we are able to custom music start and ending tracks. Thank you people, for all your efforts and to keep and eye to this feature. Let's celebrate.

I have an idea for when you're listening to a song like 'Medley: Let me talk to you / My love' but you don't like both those parts of the song. Spotify could roll out a feature that lets you only select a clip (minimum 30s so artists get paid) of the song to add it to your playlist / liked songs. This could be a popular feature, also with TikTok songs.

How about people can just set start and end times for tracks? I don't want to see the same song snipped in 100 different ways... It's already annoying that Spotify doesn't recognise when two songs are exactly the same just on a different album.

There are no "TikTok songs". People on TikTok don't create any music, they just steal it.

Some songs just have intros that are way to long and that are always skipped. Add an edit function to playlists so that you can choose how long that skip will be, i.e make this song always star at 0:13. This will make dj:ing with spotify a lot easier

How about offering those different transition presets like “Fade” or “Rise” in the Playback/Crossfade options so it would apply universally when listening to a playlist?

The ability to shorten the duration of songs in a playlist would be a good feature, for example when you want to include songs for which there is no short version available. For example, a playlist for sports, beach volleyball, etc.

Similar to how short videos on Tiktok/Instagram work etc; It would be cool if there was a new feature where you can make clips of a song and save it in a playlist/clip folder. I’m a musician and in the past I’ve had to screen record specific sections in songs to practice (or listen to), so I think this feature would be very useful.

Sometimes really good songs have terrible intros or endings that just drag on or get kind of annoying. Rather than to avoid listening to a song all together it would be great to be able to trim part of it.

  • ok the idea is to make available short clips of any song of user's choice so that it is sharable and playable on any social media platform specially on major global chatting applications
  • it can help people express themselves even better while also making more memories with their favorite songs and people they care about with their favorite music application that ever existed.
