Option to hide the podcast comments section

Please develop an option to hide the comments section for podcasts. Users should be able to choose whether or not they see this section.

Dear Spotify Team,

I’m writing to request a simple but impactful feature: the ability to hide or disable podcast comments.

I use Spotify to engage with meaningful content, learn, and unwind. Unfortunately, the comments section often detracts from that experience. It’s frequently filled with spoilers, off-topic chatter, or negativity that adds little value to the content itself.

A toggle to turn off comments—whether on a per-episode, per-podcast, or account-wide basis—would be a huge quality-of-life improvement for listeners who prefer a cleaner, more focused experience.

I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. Many users would appreciate the option to opt out of commentary and just enjoy the content. Please consider adding this as a setting.

Yes, please. It wouldn't detract from the app at all. It's only a positive benefit for those who wish it. No need to scrap the comments completely. 

With bot run accounts everywhere, it's hard to put up with manufactured/fabricated opinions being pushed. It's not everywhere.. but you notice it. I'd rather not see it anymore. I'm also impulsively driven and with no option to turn comments off.. my brain screams at me to check them. It's often a bad experience. I know that's on me, but I'd appreciate this option being added.

I really wish this request had more likes, I can't tell you how much I hate seeing people's rude comments when I'm just trying to be in my safe space. People are terrible and I'm tired of having it shoved in my face 😭

@tatstah Same sentiments here. It's supposed to be a place to unwind, feel relaxed and happy, and just get away from the madness. I checked how many votes are usually needed for implementation and it's thousands. 😵

Things I want to do with Spotify:

- listen to music and podcasts. 

Things I DON'T want to do with Spotify:

- read what some radicalized nutjob with far too much time on their hands thinks about anything.

I hate having to pick my way around this toxic noise just to use the app. With this and the constant animated inappropriate suggestions constantly distracting me I'm now shopping around for an app that aligns better with my need for a sympathetic and peaceful user experience.

+1 to this. The fact that they appear in the corner of the screen or right below the episode info is enough to be distracting and irritating. And if I ever read them, I always feel worse/more disgusted by humanity (and sometimes want to avoid Spotify as a result). Please, either give us the basic ability to hide the comments, or disable them entirely – they've just gunked up the overall experience of using Spotify, with no benefits.

Sweet dear lord, please allow me to hide comments. I won't listen to any podcast that has them. Or I'll listen on another platform.

I would love to see this feature so I can hide comments. One of the things I have always loved about Spotify is that it’s not littered with hateful spammy comment sections like the rest of the Internet. Please give us the option to hide comments. Thanks 🙂
