Physical library mode

I would love to share an idea that comes from a very deep, almost visceral connection with music—something that many passionate listeners like me still carry from the physical era of vinyls and CDs.

In a physical collection, music is not just “available”—it is owned, curated, and explored in a very personal way. You don’t just go to an artist; you go to your shelf, you pick your records, and you navigate through your relationship with that artist: the albums you chose, the tracks you loved, the memories you attached to them.

Today on Spotify, when I save an artist and try to explore my library through them, I’m redirected to the artist’s global page. While this is powerful for discovery, it breaks that intimate, collector-like experience. It feels less like browsing my music and more like stepping into a universal catalog.

What I would love to see is a “physical library mode” within Spotify:
- Start from an artist in my library
- Drill down only into the albums, EPs, and tracks that I have saved
- Explore that artist through the lens of my personal collection, not the entire Spotify discography

In other words, I want to navigate music the way I would flip through my own vinyls: intentionally, emotionally, and personally.

Music, for many of us, is not just something we stream—it’s something we build a life around. Giving users a way to experience their library as a true collection would bring back that sense of ownership, identity, and depth that made falling in love with music so powerful in the first place.

Thank you for creating a platform that has already transformed how we listen. This would make it feel even more like home.
