[Playlists] Solution to false/abusive reporting

Whenever someone reports a playlist - the title and cover art are removed immediately. This is often abused to hurt record labels and playlist curators. After contacting support - the account of someone who abused this system gets taken down. This person then creates another email and free Spotify account and repeats the process.

There is a simple solution to the problem - enable reporting feature only after 10 hours of music/podcasts were streamed using the account. It won't change the experience for a normal user but makes copyright abuse impractical. It's cheap and easy to implement and would stop 95% of false claims.

Thank you for your consideration.

My playlist now loses its title description and image INSTANTLY... it used to be hours then minutes but now it’s instant

Bots are on a rampage today for me... they seem to be targeting me more personally now as a wider selection of my playlists are being reported now...

Top50Clean: I have 8000 emails. There is no way I can reply to them all. I think I have replied to 200+ within the time frame

Bots are taking over the internet... YouTube, Facebook, Twitter are also full of them... sick of it...

I think the best way to approach this is to complain publicly (since writing direct hasnt worked). My friend from Florecilla Records has tweeted about his lists being botted and it already has 17 retweets.  I suggest everyone retweets it too.

Hello,

Here we go again. Some stupid guy, yes there are a lot of stupid guys in this world, is using bots to automatically report 3 o my most followed playlists. Definitely Spotify doesn't f... care.

It's incredible!

Playlists with 4k, 5k and 25 k in a world with 7,5B people. I don't want to be unpolite to Spotify but sometimes I want to.

Let's...

I've never seen the bots this bad before... they are even targeting playlists that don't have many followers...

BUMP! This is happening to me also, since this started my playlist never grew the same way as it was before, it's honestly sad how spotify handles this case.

Hey Top50Clean I don't suppose if you (or anyone else who knows how) could do a quick YouTube tutorial on how to create that Python code to repopulate the playlists... I'm having trouble following the instructions because I'm not familiar with the concepts... the video doesn't have to be too fancy... just a screen record with text instructions over the top would help. Could make it unlisted and share the link here... Just putting it out there if anyone has the time to do one!

Up until the last few days the bots only targeted a few of my playlists and I was able to keep on top of them... but now too many of my playlists are being targeted...

Top50Clean

I’d be glad to do that, STP444. Unfortunately, I’m on vacation and away from my main computer for the next two weeks. If someone hasn’t done it by then, I can.

In the meantime, more and more folks are retweeting the Twitter posts that have been linked in this thread. That’s another way to raise awareness if we keep that going.
