[Queue] Queue to Next or Last

Present two options on rightclick, Queue Last and Queue Next. Very easy to implement, and useful.

The way I been using spotty lately is to keep adding to Play Queue, it has gotten really long and sometimes I want to listen to something right now, then I have to add to queue and then move the songs all the way up to the top.

Mediamonkey have had this implemented since long ago. Mediamonkey is btw the best musicorganizer I've ever owned or tried.

Hey there,

Thanks for this submission. We had a slight hiccup with moving ideas to different boards, but it's all good now.

We're setting the status of this one as "not right now", but that doesn't mean that your votes don't count.

Cheers!

I would love an option to move a song to the top of your queue, similar to YouTube's options when clicking on a video in a playlist (see the attached screenshot). Others mentioned having an option to prioritize a song, etc., which I don't think cuts it, moving something to the top would be a better way to play something next, and organize when adding a large amount of media to the queue.

Can we please add a 'Play next in queue' option when we are surfing around Spotify... This feels like it would be an easy option to add.... I mean, Winamp had it back in 1997! Can't Spotify do the same??

Faithfully yours,

Hi MullaOfSja

You can 'add to queue' any song from the three dots to the right of a song. As many songs as you like. If you're playing a playlist, the queue will play first, before returning to that playlist. There's also a queue control as below

To add songs I've searched for on my playlist to the 'Up Next' queue: if I search for an artist like 'Adele' on one of my playlists, an option to 'add searched songs to Up Next' will appear at the top of the results.

Why in the world you bothered to add a COMPLETE USELESS OPTION? Who needs to go to queue? That part is so easy to be access by anyone already. Why you don't just add that super dumb PLAY NEXT option instead? Guys you're just literally amazing! You simply don't understand a simple, COMMON SENSE ASK? Instead you're cluttering the app or removing options that works very well... People are asking this back for years now... since your "smart" managers decided to remove it in the past. You're simply incredible (in the bad way). No offense.

@Vasile-PH, I think we should be offensive here, indeed, because most of us are paying our money for this and not having such a simple, yet important and useful, tool - which, as an example stated above, existed on Winamp back in 1997.

Hi Leah96

In the queue control on the desktop you can click>drag>drop to move songs around the queue. On the mobile app you will long-press>drag>drop to move them. start.pngFinish.png

Hi TunedIN.

I know that the your answer wasn't meant to me.

  • But, your point towards that option on the mobile app (i.e., dragging the songs from the bottom to the top) simply does not make any sense. A play next" button is mandatory.

Say that you have 100 songs on a queue, it took you some time to create this queue. But then, a brand new album with 20 songs was released and you wanted to hear them prior to those 100 songs. You simply do not want to drag each one of the 20 songs to the top. A "play next" button on the album would immediately solve the problem.

And, worse than that, sometimes I have such a large queue, that I cannot even see the last songs added below (and drag them to the top).

Cheers

Guys did I hallucinate or it happened to others as well?

This week one morning I was swiping to queue songs on my Android phone as usual, but it suddenly started putting the songs at the top, instead at the end. I even saw the popup text "Added to Top of the Queue".

But then after a few hours the swipe action went back to doing the normal "Added to Queue" thing like nothing happened.

I didn't touch any of the settings, for a short time it was simply working as we were bagging for over a decade. And now it seems to be gone again.

Maybe it's in development (I'm saying it like it's such a big deal to develop something like this) and I was able to trigger it because of a bug? Am I crazy?

Hi JoséWordPlayer

The original reason I entered this thread was to answer Leah96 question of how to move tracks to the top of the queue. I offer solutions to specific questions. My solution may not work for your use. If you have a specific issue I would be happy to look into that for you.
