Spatial Audio on MacOS

Spatialized audio (stereo) works beautifully on the iPhone Spotify app, but is completely absent on macOS. The difference is significant enough that I regularly connect to my phone to listen, even when my laptop is right in front of me. I’ve been doing this for years.

There used to be workaround by using the browser for playback instead of the App, but this has also stopped working, so there’s currently no way to get spatialized playback on desktop.

This doesn’t need to be Apple’s spatial audio pipeline (which is limited to AirPods). Spotify could make its own spatial audio technology that could be applied to the macOS app for anyone on headphones. Please bring this feature to desktop. It would make a huge difference. It would genuinely keep me on your platform for long into the future.
