Stop links from automatically playing

When I listen to a playlist and my friend is sending me a Spotify link, if I open it, my previous playlist is lost and the link start playing.

I want to be able to open the link without affecting my current playlist. I want to decide myself what I want to do with this song - play it right away, maybe add to the current queue or just add to my songs and listen later.

This issue is very annoying, it is described here and supported by tens of other users

When opening a song through a link, it automatically overrides the ongoing playlist and plays instantly. This has been an issue for years. Please include a setting to disable this feature so I may open links to songs without losing what I am currently listening to. Then I may choose to add the linked song to my que or continue to browse the artist if I want. There is currently no work around to this issue and it makes sharing music a pain.

This feature is so blatantly obvious I struggle to even call it a feature. This is a basic functionality that anyone with a decent eye for UX design would catch. In no world should clicking a Spotify link override the player action in the app. Please just bring me to the page for the song so I can decide what action to take next. Perhaps I want to add to a queue, perhaps I want to add to a playlist, perhaps I just want to read more about the artist, perhaps I do want to play the song. Until Spotify can link to my brain and confidently understand my intent when clicking a link, there is only one correct solution: bring me to the song’s page so I can decide.
Engaging with a link should not be punished by destroying my cue or playlist playback.
Please fix this - if it’s not fixed, Apple Music is an easy solution.
