[Subscription] Student Discount in Quebec

Hi everyone,

I woke up this morning to Spotify's Student Discount email, which made me glad.., until I found out that it's not available in Quebec. As the voice of all Quebeckers, I would like to address Spotify's Team to make it available in Quebec too. We're a part of Canada as much as the rest of the provinces.

Well you need to do something about it because your principal competitor (the fruit brand) is offerir a 50% discount for students in Quebec so I had no choice but to switch even if I prefer your interface. I don't understand why they can offer it but you can't.

Same. Switched to Apple Music because they don't treat us like second class citizens. Too bad, Spotify is better, but as long as they can't get their sh*t together, they lost me as a customer. If Apple Music can offer a student discount in Quebec, there's no reason Spotify, the largest music streaming app, can't do it.

Well this same generic response is written all over the internet yet nobody seems to be able to explain the reason. What are the circumstances that are beyond your control?

I think it should be a great idea to make it avalaible in Quebec City. There is a ton of students and they should have access to the same discount as the rest of Canada. Also, I would like to know why it is not avalaible for Quebec City, is there a technical reason? Or just because Spotify has a personal reason?

Had access to the student discount for a year, now I can't renew it? Looks like I'll be leaving for Apple.

My biggest issue with this problem is that we still get the ad for students in quebec. STOP ADVERTISING IT HERE IN QUEBEC. Like okay, we can't have it, but please have targeted ads.

I'm really disapointed too. I saw another response from Spotify that said it's about law in Quebec.

But why Apple Music works for students in Quebec ? Is there a special law only for Apple Music ?

I was a Premium member of Spotify for months, I just go in a University and due to this I have to change to Apple Music today...
