Support podcasts in Sonos

I know it is possible to stream podcasts with a Sonos System using Spotify Connect. However, the best way to control a Sonos System is the Sonos App itself (it is faster since songs start playing immediately and provides more functionalities, e.g selection of speakers and individual speaker volume). Unfortunately, it is neither possible to search podcasts in the Sonos App nor to restart a podcast via Sonos that was previously started via Spotify Connect. The search simply does not return podcasts and restarting a podcast results in an error message.

Would you please provide the ability to start podcasts using the Sonos App? When searching content, there could be a section “podcasts” next to playlists, songs etc.

If you wanted to provide premium support for podcasts on Sonos, you might even think about automatically adapting the sound settings / equalizer (something like “voice” for podcasts and some other setting according to the music genre).

I agree fully. Podcast integration with Sonos is a primary use case for me. Spotify connect was an effective work around. Now it seems it is not working as well. I would rather be able to go through the Sonos app.

It is easy to find podcasts on the spotify website or in the spotify app.  I use Sonos and in the Spotify add in, it is almost impossile to find podcasts.

Sonos in-app spotify functionality doesn’t currently support playing podcasts on spotify ecosystem. Problem seems to be an xml setup on spotify’s side.

but, while at it, wouldn’t it be great to collaborate between spotify and sonos and actually make a GOOD spotify plugin in sonos? where you get access to your playlists in list order for example
