The ♡ Heart button AND! a (+) Plus button

In March 2023, the  Heart button will start being replaced with a (+) Plus button for saving things to Your Library. Things that have been saved to Your Library will now show a green ✔ Check icon instead of a green Heart icon.

While the new (+) button is quite useful to know if a song is added to your library, many users loved to see a heart icon ♡ on their favorite songs.

Currently, to add a song to your favorites (♡) you have to click on the (+) button and add it to your favorites! It's very confusing, and it took away from seeing a lovely heart next to your favorite songs. 😞

My idea is for users to have both buttons.

The (+) button to let users know that your songs are added in their libraries.
And the ♡ button so users can directly add their songs to their favorites!

Both buttons would work very well, and would be very intuitive for users.

Thank you very much for your support, I invite you to share the link to the idea so that it can get more recognition and reach Spotify, thank you very much. ♥

Yes please do this! So that you can like the playlist without saving it 😉

For the love of god, please bring back the heart button alongside the green tick

We need this.

Please restore the heart.  The people have spoken.

I desperately need the heart icon back in the playlist view - or some kind of “liked” indicator.  My entire music organization structure depends on this “liked” vs “not liked” distinction *within* a playlist.

I used to spend over an hour every day finding new music and curating playlists, but that has dropped to zero since December when the update was rolled out for me — the change completely breaks my organizational system

Spotify..I don't know if you actually read these comments..but if you do could you please do this and bring back the heart.

This change has completely messed up how I use Spotify. I really only ever listen to my liked songs. If I come across an old song I really want to listen to again I'd quickly unlike and relike to move it to the top of my liked songs, so I can quickly find it again. But this heart change has made this an annoying ridiculous multiple step process.

Please can you just revert this or do what OP suggested. No one likes this. I don't know why you did this.

I gave the Plus function a fair shot. It just makes things more complicated and there is no usability case for it.

The heart icon is part of of universal UI language that everyone with a smart device intuitively understands, after a few months of daily usage, I find the plus icon very confusing when you wanna quickly mark a song you like when you're on-the-go.

See I'm not fully aware of the context the song is playing, is it from an album, a personal playlist, a similar song radio ... etc, sometimes I just pick the phone and hit play and If there is something I like I want to mark it quickly, and when I found that green check mark next to the track I am thrown off completely. Is this a playlist I am following, did I already like it, is this in on of MY own lists .... and to figure that out when I am driving or if a song playing in the background while I am gaming makes things insanely hard for no reason.

The thing is, this feature made music discovery and listening on the app more frustrating and cumbersome and gave me ZERO benefits. There have been no quality of life improvements or benefits from a usage of UI celerity in my case, and I am a heavy user who actually uses playlists a lot.

I say either bring back the like, or remove the plus completely. It's confusing, you're reinventing the wheel and trying to teach your users a new behavior that is unique and very specific and different from everything else he interacts with. You're prioritizing a very specific user case, someone who super organizes his Spotify library with just personal playlists and nothing else? is that how the casual user of app wants or what your data shows?  if not then why?

Definitely need both! The change has only appeared on my apps recently but I've found it really offputting. I usually listen to music whilst doing other stuff so the ability for me to "Like" a new song quickly is important so I can return to whatever I am working on without getting distracted. The plus button is great, just add a heart button too

Yes! Give us the option!

Or just another way to mark songs in playlists... Like a star system would also be good for me like in the old iTunes!

There's been so many posts saying this! Please act!

Agreed! I really miss the like button and it just needs to be there, beside the plus button.
There was no reason to remove it and it needs to be a seperate thing from the plus one.
Also, I found out about songs that I had in my playlists that are not in my favorites although i thought they were.
