Timed Loop (AB repeat within a song)

Introducing Timed Loop! 🔁

(also known as AB Repeat)

How does it work :
Timed loop enables a person to hear a particular portion (time A to time B) of the song in repeat. To ease them from rewinding to that part over and over again and make them enjoy their blissful part of the song at ease!

Spotify’s current customer base till 2023 is 551 Million

Target Audience:
- According to #Meta sources, there 1 billion users of Instagram and 1.7 Billion users in Tiktok
By doing guesstimates:
10 percent of each will make their category influencers, dancers and dance influencers
Which sums up to 100+170 Million = 270 Million
Assuming at least 100 Million use Spotify (It’s a huge crowd getting benefitted in this)

They are people who practice their 30 secs music, 60 secs music in a song repeatedly, need not come to their phones (which will be in a desk far away) and change the timing to the music they practice for

- BGM (Background music) Lovers who get stuck to one part of the song and wants it to be repeated

- Lyric lovers who wants to listen to a paragraph over and over

- Dance classes and people who practice for dance auditions.

Also, as on 07/10/2023, Rating for Spotify dropped down to 2.8 Stars (27 Million reviews) in Google Playstore

Features like these can be rewarding to users and one more important thing is that

- No competitors have this feature : Amazon Prime music, Wynk music, Apple Music

The ability to select which parts of a song to listen to based on user preset timestamps on the track in the spotify app.

Another target audience for this - people who regularly play table-top RPG's and use Spotify for their playlists. An AB repeat function would be a great tool for being able to loop a section of a track for any given amount of time and then cut to the second loop when needed to keep immersion. I will speak for the whole TTRPG community here when i say they would see a benefit.

Hello.

I often use spotify to learn drums also and i have to repeat a lot certain fragments of a piece over and over.

Is there a possibility that i can get a feature where i can like mark a fragment of a piece to listen to it over and over? Changing playing times like in podcast would be also great but like in a way of slowing down songs.

I've wanted this for years on Spotify

Very common use case for me is - I really like a particular part of a song and I just want to listen to that particular part of it on loop. Or I want to collect all these “parts” from different songs and make a playlist of these. So just add a class to your code, and allow various operations to it (pretty much all those that you allow for the whole song).

Thanks

I am a professional saxophone player. (and software engineer)
I often start using spotify to listen to a song that i want to learn to play.
currently I'm practicing on Art pepper meets the rythm section,
my procedure is:
I listen to a single bar or just a single beat over and over again,
placing the mouse at a particular spot to rewind to.
then I listen and play along,
remove the hand from the saxophone to click the mouse,
try to get it back on the saxophone in time to play along.
when I have nailed it, then i expand the section I'm learning, adding just a bit more at the beginning.
It would be fantastic to be able to controll this by foot from a pageturner pedal or some midi-device.

If you are really in to making spotify at teaching tool for aspiring musicians, then look in to different music teaching techniques.
learning by ear.
face out instruments.
ear training on chords and progressions.
ear training on melodies.
ear training on rythms.
Reach out if you need help, or want to hire. I'd like to work at spotify building this.
