I like having the lyrics accessible, and having to swipe up and click lyrics is a pain. Instead of the album cover, it would be awesome to have the option to have the lyrics there instead!

My Question or Issue

Hi Spotify Team,

I really enjoy using the lyrics feature, especially when I’m listening to music and singing along. However, I noticed that recently, the lyrics view does not stay open when the song changes.

Previously, when I enabled lyrics once, they stayed open for the next songs too. But now, I have to click the lyrics button again every time a new song starts. This can be frustrating.

It would be great if you could bring back the old behavior or add a setting that allows lyrics to remain open by default.

Like the recent other commenters on this topic I cant see the logic in after every song it automatically goes back to the artist page. There needs to be a option to prevent this.

did they just break lyrics on the desktop client? 
why does it keep switching back to album image? who would want that? 
and the icon is missing from player controls 
every day a new **heck**

I just recently updated my review of Spotify  on google-play, mentioned the lyrics mode,  and this is  what I got as a reply:

Hi. Our best tech folks are aware of the issue, and are investigating this as we speak. 
Hopefully, it shouldn’t be too much longer for a fix.

Just search for "Screen enters sleep mode when viewing lyrics".

Not sure how they  got to sleep mode,  I never had that issue,
