It’s 2025 and it’s still not implemented. Why is this a big challenge?

It’s been almost 5 years since we were told Airplay 2 would be supported. I genuinely don’t understand why Spotify treats us like the child in a divorce between two parents (the parents being Spotify and Apple).

Spotify claims they want open competition but actively makes the Apple experience horrible for the end users. AirPlay 2 has been out for over 7 years and Spotify has had almost 6 to implement AirPlay 2.

In my opinion, since Spotify sued Apple for its practices, maybe the users of Spotify should sue Spotify for purposely making it’s platform bad for a specific subset of users (kinda like discrimination).

As Spotify Lossless is being rolled out, AirPlay 2 support is being added. This is according to the people on Reddit

I’m considering canceling my subscription. You waste so many resources for “growth” but not much for the user experience.
