[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s). 

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Spotify ist the biggest crying baby on planet earth. 
Spotify always talk about the bad guys from apple. But the real bad guy ist Spotify. No HomePod support, no Airplay support, no lossless music, no 3D Audio… All these features are basic stuff on every other streaming service. 

After 4 years of waiting for all these features in Spotify, my biggest wish is that Spotify leaving the apple platform. It’s the best choice for apple, the users and the artist. Without apple Spotify ist nothing.

Amazing. Just totally amazing. Those in charge at Spotify and those lab monkeys never cease to impress me with how lazy and under developed they have made the Spotify app to be. 5 years. It will of been almost 5 years. Almost half a decade will have passed and we still wont have Spotify Hi-Fi (which they failed to achieve), native Spotify support for the Apple HomePod (which they failed to achieve) and the improved Spotify that will compete in line with other music services that offer the basic implementations for a decent music streaming service......(which they failed to achieve). Spotify in return offered us (paying customers) a price increase in our subscription instead. They also offered persistent bugs in the app that screw up the local music session experience. And they have also offered to make a few unnecessary/ useless changes to the Spotify app interface, all while ignoring their userbase and their users most urged and most requested changes to Spotify for a somewhat better than average music experience. Complimentary from the clowns at Spotify. Im over it. Planning on ditching Spotify soon. Im done waiting to be honest. I had a very good long run with them. How it was better than Apple Music, Youtube Music, Pandora and other music services. Even more sad that im just a reflection of what will happen to Spotify in the coming times. More people gonna be ditching them like me if they dont pick up the pace and catch up because they are lagging so far behind its not even funny. Get your $*iT straight.

This is absolutely childish behaviour. You blamed Apple not open their platforms for third-party developers but now that they do you still refuse to make native support for HomePod and to adopt AitPlay 2. This is ridiculous! I’m a long time Spotify premier user but if you continue behaving like a child and ignore your customer and community, I’ll move to other streaming service like Apple Music! How much complaints do you want, so it be a “significant volume” ? Oh and congrats! EU fine Apple of 1.8 billion euros for music streaming rivals via restrictions on its App Store, so MAYBE now a good time to adopt these features!

Just a note to every one getting notifications on this thread. I like most here finaly got fed up ans made the switch over to Apple Music due to Spotify disregard for us all. I am SO happy i did, The audio quality and full support for my HomePods is SO MUCH BETTER. Just make the switch it is worth it 100%. Yes it will take some time to adjust but the over all experience is worth it by far. And with the new AI based features coming to Apple music in the coming months it will be even better. There are lots of tools to export your playllists and with that moved over Apple music will have a good grasp of your tastes. Just do it . you wont regret it.

After so many years, I am seriously considering switching to apple music just due to the fact that HomePod support is missing. I have no Idea how this can be acceptable
