precise volume control

I stream Spotify to my stereo and often control the volume in the app and it would be nice to have precise volume control. The volume bar in the app is too small and sometime jumps when you click on it. Having something that resembles an analog volume knob would be awesome and give the app more of a professional and luxury feel.

Hello @salkire!

I marked your idea as a New Suggestion. Thanks for bringing your feedback to the Spotify Community. I'd recommend checking out this article for more info on how the Ideas Exchange is managed.

Have a nice day 🙂

The volume control slider on the Windows App is small and very sensitive one click or touch with a mouse is often too much or too little. If the slide were longer it could be easier to get the volume to the appropriate level. The up-V +-  buttons are better still a little touche. and going to the keyboard is a effort when the mouse or trackball is handy. Another option would be a large long pop up slider that is less sensitive.

A minor irritation  just sharing a petty gripe

Completely agree.  Some speakers - especially from Samsung - that you connect to using Spotify Connect get very loud even at low volume levels.  Its very difficult to raise the volume in small increments using the mouse with such a small volume bar, and it's very easy to unintentionally make everything super loud.

I received a response from Spot. It was positive when I received a reply, "it's already in the works" I may have noticed a slight change in the sensitivity not enough to be certain that there was a adjustment and no further response from them. It would have been appropriate to say a adjustment was made if so. I sometimes use the volume control on my device to make fine adjustments.

I wonder if anyone upstairs is even listening to these chats? My suggestion was a longer slider would help.I haven't noticed any changes.

Voting for this! For me phone volume buttons are the fastest way to adjust levels, but Spotify Connect’s abrupt steps (+10-15% per click) ruin the experience. Hope Spotify will make adjustments smoother while keeping hardware button support!

Interesting

I commented on this issue almost a year ago, I did see a response someplace that suggested it was in already in the works. Yet we are still discussing the issue. Some response from Spot about any progress being made is not very apparent. It makes me wonder if our requests are actually being listened too? Or is it just some BOT appeasing us to keep us feeling interested? Even "sorry NO we can't make that work" would end this conversation. Either the fix wasn't very effective, or it didn't happen. On a 15" screen, if I carefully move the cursor to the inside edge of the adjusting Button I can get the volume close to my preference after a few tries, I wouldn't even try in 5" Phone screen. That along with disabling DJ is just a annoying promo to keep us chatting.

Hi Spotify, why are we not having this feature yet? This could be really useful for someone streaming music on TV like me. I can only control the volume in my laptop and it would be really nice to get a more precise control.

I'm still dealing with it, too. I have a laptop, stereo receiver, A streaming TV box, and the TV in the works. There may be some obscure options in settings which got deleted or badly adjusted for me with a update because before, It allowed my APP to adjust the volume, from one or more of the devices in the mix. I have to admit, it wouldn't be easy to create a solution. Sometimes smart electronics need some buttons to push and dials to twist.
