"Shuffle Queue" Button / Smart Queue Mixing

Hi Spotify Team,

I’d like to suggest a feature that I think many users (especially active queue builders and Jam users) would love: a dedicated "Shuffle Queue" button.

Currently, when you manually add tracks or albums to your queue, Spotify plays them strictly in the exact order they were added. While this makes sense in some scenarios, it creates friction in many everyday situations:

  • Mixing Albums / Playlists: If I add multiple different albums to my queue to listen to during a session, I have to listen to the entire first album before the second one starts. The only current workaround is manually dragging every single song up and down to interleave them.

  • Spotify Jams & Social Listening: When hosting or joining a Jam with friends, songs often end up grouped by who added them or added in big chunks. Having a quick button to shuffle the current shared queue would make the listening experience much more dynamic and fair for everyone.

  • Global Shuffle Toggle Ignored: Enabling the main "Shuffle" toggle doesn't shuffle songs that are explicitly added to the queue—it plays the queue in order first before shuffling the rest of the source playlist/album.

The Proposed Solution

Add a small "Shuffle Queue" icon/button directly inside the Queue view (next to "Clear Queue"). Or make the existing shuffle button do the same to the Queue as it does to playlists.

When pressed, it simply randomizes the order of all tracks currently sitting in the manual queue. This would save users a ton of manual dragging, fix the Jam flow, and give us total control over our temporary listening sessions!

Thanks for considering this!
