as the title states, the current UI is kinda poorly designed for foldable and tablet devices. in its current state, the UI is just the phone interface scaled to fit. for example, apps like YouTube Music put the playback controls on one side and the queue/playlist on the other, which is a far better utilisation of screen real estate. see the attached screenshots for what I mean.
foldables have only been out for like seven years now, tablets even longer, surely somethings in the works. I've seen screenshots of something supposedly being pushed but it appears to be trapped in A/B testing on the beta channel.
