what is the difference between the family premium and family basic accounts

The description of the Premium Family plan says it covers up to 6 PREMIUM accounts but the Basic Family says it covers up to 6 BASIC accounts. However, there is no description of the difference between a basic and a premium account. The only difference between the two plans I can see is whether or not the account has 15 hours of audiobook listening time. Please explain the difference between Premium and Basic accounts. Thank you.

The only difference is that the Premium plan gives the plan manager access to Audiobooks included in Premium, while the basic plan does not.

I can't find the Basic Family Plan option in the Plans list. Was it removed?

In case you’re not seeing the Basic family option in your list - this could mean you're not eligible for this offer or is not available in your area. As far as I know you need to be currently on a Premium subscription to be able to view the Basic options. You can read more about it here.

I saw the Basic Family plan while subscribed as Premium. I canceled the plan to subscribe to Basic Family and the option was gone. I think I know now what I did wrong. Thank you! 

Does basic family plan support download and play offline?

Hey @Jasony001,

 

I can confirm that Spotify Basic does include offline listening in most regions, with the exception of South Korea. Users there don’t have access to offline listening with the Basic plan, which might have caused some confusion if you came across a page specific to that region.

 

If you’re not in South Korea, you’ll definitely still have the ability to download music with the Basic plan.

What is the Price difference between family basic and family premium ? (As of November 25, when prices will increase also for existing abos).

Hi, 

 

Today I read in the news that lossless quality will become available for premium subscriptions. I previously had premium family, but enabled the basic family option because I don’t need listening books.

 

Does anyone know if the lossless sound quality will be available for basic family members? Or do I need to upgrade to premium again (€4 extra) even though I don’t need the books. This is not mentioned anywhere, at least I couldn’t find it.

I'm also looking for the answer to this and googling it has brought me here. 

I’m wondering the same thing. I have basic family and got a notification in the app today that lossless is rolling out and I will be notified when it’s available for me. Sounds like it might be available for basic family plans, but I’ll post here when I know more.

Will Basic Family have access to lossless?

Also waiting for the answer to this, would be really rude if we don't have it

Would not surprise me when Basic will not get it. Although Basic is for music only. Why listen to lossless podcasts or audio books.

I'm in the U.S. with a Basic Duo account and can confirm that lossless is indeed enabled for my account. It appeared for me this morning but as of this evening has not yet shown up in the other member's app.

I have Premium Family account and haven’t seen anything yet. Tested on various devices

I’m located in Sweden.

NL here, Basic family. Als owner I have the Lossless option, the members not. Don't know why, can not find anything further about is

Lossless is currently available to Premium subscribers in select markets and is being gradually rolled out. This includes Basic plans as well 🙂

We regularly experiment with new features to help improve your listening experience, but keep in mind that during these tests not everyone sees the same thing at the same time. We appreciate your interest and we're hoping to roll out lossless more broadly soon, so stay tuned 🙌🏼

It seems like they are rolling out lossless in US, UK and NL first. Other markets will get it later
