Spotify premium gives you the option to download playlists inside the spotify client for listening when you don't have an internet connection. You are still downloading the music, but it is only for use inside the Spotify client.

I have the same problem, I am not intressed to pay money and not be able to download. Is this a problem right now or an continuing problem?

if we have to pay $9.99 each month and not have the option to download any song like the premium membership say in the portal of the spotify site I am going to cancel my memebrship and delete my account

Hi ChicoFlex & fbklfc76 - Welcome to the Community. There's seems to a bit of confusion between downloads and our Premium subscription.

Currently our Unlimited and Premium subscribers can listen to an unlimited amount of music and travel with their Spotify accounts.

With a Premium subscription you can sync playlists for offline use on your mobile devices. If you'd like to own those tracks. This doesn't involve downloads in any way, and never has.

When on the Premium service, head to the top of one of your playlists and select "Available Offline" (also called "Download Playlist" on Android devices). This will sync that playlist to that device.

There is no confusion here. when spotify say on the site about the premium and I know how to read english maybe I have a bad spell but I know what I read

download music is leting me download the music I want and play the music I want on my computer with out using spotify and listen to my music using media player, my ipod or making a cd to listen the music in my car radio. I dont see nthing on the site the say download the playlist.

I am goign to cancel my membership and delete my account I hate fake people when they say soemthing only to promote and when you join the site everything is diferent

That's sucks

So I am paying $10.00 for only playing music in spotify if I got the program or app install on my pc, ipod, ipad, cellphone

but I can't play the music on my car radio I can winamp and is %100 free and I can play any music and radiostation from any country for freewith out paying nothing and here paying $10.00 to do the same think like winamp nah I think for me winamp is better

cya but I am deleting my account, my apps, and goign to cancel my membership for good

I'm also confused by this notion.

I too was just sold Premium based entirely on the 'download your music' mention.

It's terrible business ethics to make it so we're only aware changes have been made after commiting 10 pounds of my hard earned money...

False advertising can get a business into a lot of trouble.

I for one don't really see the difference between Unlimited and Premium, not £5.00 worth at all.

I'd like a refund if possible for the difference.

I hate to see false advertising by websites like this one. this is the reason why the anonymous team like destroying false sites like this one because they abuse with people like me

Can you give an example of this "false advertising" as you call it?

I'm having problems finding the download button

Hi @user-removed . Which device are you using? There's a good explanation earlier in this thread but do ask if it doesn't answer your question.

Agreed. No download - no deal.

Thanks Meredith. Sync was hard to find. Glad to know that it hasn't changed.
Peace!

I find this site very confusing...anyway to my question

I had spotify on my mobile for a week subscribed to the 3 months @ 99p so I could download music, which worked great...music galore, then after a week all I could get was a black screen and see nothing

Anyway...so I have down loaded onto my laptop which I can now see and signed in as I did on my mobile but there is no download button and it looks so different to the mobile app

Can anyone help please its driving me mad!

Many thanks

M

There is a download button on my music when I play it on my iphone.  What is that for?  I'm debating whether I should subscribe to Premium or not.  I have the free version and hate the ads.  Thanks,

Please forgive my ignorance, but what does sync mean?  and what does "download to use within the Spotify client" mean?

If I hit the download button, will it put the file in my music folder?

Peter,

I need to know why I can't see the download button. Instructions in help aren't helping. I am a brand new user. So far this has been confusing. You answered a question without answering the question. With pictures, how do you get the download button to apprear?

On Windows 10 PC at the top of my playlist is a large green putton named play. No sync or download button found. There is a circle next tot it that has three dots in a row. Clicking that doesn't reveal a sync or download button either. I am not able to find anything that helps me locate this button so that I can hear the playlist on my phone.

it wouldnt show at all i removed some of my devices and still cant see the download butten i payed money for nothing
