Daily Wellness mixes not updating tracks

My Question or Issue

Ever since I started listening to the Daily Wellness mix in April, the songs barely have changed. I get a refresh on the podcasts every morning and evening, but 90% of the songs are the same day and night, just the order is changed. This means that a high energy song that could be suitable for the morning mix is also played in the evening mix, killing the relaxing mood of the podcasts. Moreover, I dislike 80% of the songs on my mix, I pretty much have to skip all the songs and just listen to the podcasts. More than half of the songs have been on my list since April, which is pretty terrible.

Is there a way to add more rotation on the songs?

I'm not sure if the song choice is curated or is automatic, but it definitely is very different from my musical taste.

Hey everyone,

Thank you for reporting this issue to us.

We just wanted to let you know that the right folks are looking into this.

We're not able to provide an exact timeline for a fix, but we'd recommend always keeping your Spotify app and all devices fully up-to-date.

Thanks!

Hi - the problem I have is the podcasts disappear around midday and I’m just left with songs from the morning, and no podcasts for the evening at all. I haven’t seen an evening one yet!!

Status changed to: Need more info

Hey folks,

Thanks for reporting this to us.

First, we'd recommend trying a clean reinstall of the app on your device by following the steps here.

If after that you’re still having trouble with this, could you provide us with the following info:

  • Device + exact OS version
  • Exact Spotify version
  • Does this happen across mobile devices (e.g. by logging in on another mobile device)?
  • A screenshot of your Daily Wellness playlist and it's URI

Once we have that, we will pass it on to the relevant team, who will look further into it.

Thanks!

I already did the log out then log in, and then the reinstall. I use Spotify in three places, the Daily Wellness list is consistent accross all my devices at all times.

  • Laptop Windows 10 Enterprise, Spotify version 1.1.52.687.gf5565fe5
  • Mobile OnePlus 3T, Android 9, Spotify version 8.5.98.984
  • Laptop Ubuntu 16.04
  • It happens accross devices, computers, and mobile devices

Screenshot of today's morning version. Now I have no podcasts at all (checked in two different devices from above), and the songs marked with red arrows have been on the list for months, day and night. URI spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1EFsaCHjF6Xvxu

Hey there folks,

Thanks for providing us with the required info.

We wanted to let you know that we've passed all the details you shared with us on to the right Spotify team since we're constantly working on improving the automated suggestions you receive.

We understand this isn't working ideally and by forwarding your feedback to our teams we'll let them know how to improve the overall suggestion algorithms.

At the moment we can't provide you with a timeline for the Daily Wellness specifically, but we always recommend keeping your Spotify app updated to the latest version so that you don't miss a thing.

Thanks!

Peter

Hey @joulsauron,

Do you have access to the Daily Drive playlist? If so, it should appear for you in Search > Made For You.

Alternatively, you can type in 'Daily Drive' in Search (it should appear among the top results - just make sure it says "Made for [your username] under the cover art).

If you can find it, could you let us know if you're experiencing the same issue there as with Daily Wellness?

Thanks - keep us posted!

@PeterI've never listened to my Daily Drive playlist, but I see that the current playlist includes songs that I like, either because I've listened regularly to them in the past or because they are in my Liked Songs list. This is good, and I was expecting something similar on my Daily Wellness list. Now, I'll try to keep an eye and see if the songs on my Daily Drive playlist refresh daily or not, which is my may concern about the Daily Wellness.

Hi @Peter

It‘s nice to see you are still alive. Mind to come over to a thread waiting for an update for quite some time now ?

Would be much appreciated I guess ;).

Thx and cheers

I've also been having this issue for months. Doesn't seem any closer to being fixed. If I hear Dragonball Durag by Thundercat again I think I'm going to scream (and I like that song!!).

I've found The Daily Pep! by Meg Kissack to be quite enjoyable, but I've noticed that it's clearly for a female audience - not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's a bit annoying when I keep being urged to "connect with like-minded women" etc. Spotify knows my gender - this could be easily fixed, surely (the issue, not my gender)?

Same issue... same like 20 songs every day... definitely NOT a caching issue (might as well say, "have you tried turning it off and on again?" LOL), as I use different devices depending on the day. This could be so so good but it's SO so not 😕

It's still happening. Just logged out and did a clean reinstall on iPhone 8+/ios 14.4.
Unfortunately the issue is now being echoed in the Daily Drive and the Get Up playlists as well (so sad about this because I used these playlists to replace Daily wellness for my commutes to and from work).. and several of the songs are actually on all three playlists. My least favorite part of the situation is that if i "hide" the repeat songs that I cannot stand anymore, they will STILL appear on the playlist the next day.

Rethinking my premium subscription entirely at this point, and contemplating switching to another music streaming service for my daily listening
