Equalizer issues

We're seeing reports that some users are having issues with the Equalizer. Some notice the sound gets a bit muffled/static with a Bluetooth device connected, others experience volume drops, and some don’t hear any volume change at all.

 

This seems to be happening on a variety of devices.

You should notice improvements in the behavior, as a new app version was recently released for the desktop app. Make sure you're running version 1.2.78 and let us know if it works better for you! Steps on how to update the app can be found here.

 

If the issue persists on the updated version, or if you're having this issue on the mobile app, let us know your exact version - this will help us investigate further.

I also encountered this issue yesterday, never had any problems. Today I had to listen at max volume in my car, since I turn the bass up and the volume itself lowers so dang much I can't hear anything below 50%.

Been having the same problem on iPhone or iOS 26 ever since the latest update. It was completely fine before the update, really do hope they come up with a fix for this.. super annoying

Same with me, the settings I use now sound horrible and distorted, quieter than it should be and drowned out.

It seems the issue has returned since version 9.0.90.1227 on iOS. Come on, Spotify, just revert to the old Equalizer like it was in version 9.0.86

YES!

This issue needs to be escalated…

Ive used my same EQ settings for 4+ years and it was working just fine yesterday (10/27) Monday morning, and when I get in my car after work I immediately can tell a difference. It hurts to listen to bland music. 

This is a must fix.

Nothing has worked for a fix…

 

Tried clearing the cache, redownloading the app, signing into a different account, updating, even updating to IOS 26 (Did not want to) and still nothing. This hurts big time. Especially when lossless comes out too.

All they need to do is revert to the old Equalizer as it was in version 9.0.86

As of 10/29/25 this is still not fixed, idk why the thread has been marked as solved. Really do hope to get a fix on this bug soon!

In the meantime, make sure to try some troubleshooting to see if you notice a difference in the behavior, if you haven't already. This includes clearing stored cache, a clean reinstall, checking with another device, different internet connection, etc.
