Issues loading the TV app

We're seeing reports that some users are unable to open the Spotify app on their TVs. Some see a blank screen, others see a white rectangle or the Spotify logo, and the app does not load any further.

 

The issue seems to appear on different operating systems.

We have good news from our teams - this should now be fixed! We're also seeing some comments that things are back on track again, that's great to hear 🎉

 

If you're still experiencing issues, make sure to give the troubleshooting steps mentioned earlier here a shot. You can post a new thread in the relevant help board here, should this app behavior persist.

Hi there, same issue on my Samsung UA43J5500 smart TV since a couple of weeks ago. 

latest Spotify version installed (2.1.0, released 12/11/2024). 

I've tried every solution I could find online but no luck: uninstall ~5 times, factory reset, unplugging TV + router, TV and Spotify SW are both updated, but nothing helps!

All other apps work fine and I'm not going to buy a new TV for spotify alone, so please fix this with a new release supporting (not so old) Samsung TVs!

cannot attach a file but it looks exactly as other users attached previously - white/grey screen of musical death and general vibe in the house... 

looks like this issue started with a SW release you recently rolled out as it pops up for a lot of users all of a sudden. 

PLEASE FIX IT!!

Hi Ivelina!
The same problem occurs in my Samsumg TV UN48JU6500. My software is up to date and i try all ways to fix it: restore, uninstal and install the app, reset the factore settings of my tv and others, without success.

I hop that Spotify fix the problem as soon as possible. I'm disappointed.

Have exactly the same problem and tried all the solutions with no success, following this thread for some answers

I'm having this problem on TV too, in Brazil. Support said they're working on a solution. I hope so.

Thanks for all the info you've provided!

 

As mentioned, the right folks are investigating this at the moment, but they need some additional information, so can you check what software version your TV is running and send it here? I see some of you already shared it, thanks for that! You can find the version using these steps:

  1. Open the Settings menu on your TV.
  2. Select Support.
  3. Select Software Update.
  4. The current version of your TV software will be displayed.

Thank you for your reply. My TV's software version is 1570. When checking for updates, it says there are none available.
