Issues loading the TV app

We're seeing reports that some users are unable to open the Spotify app on their TVs. Some see a blank screen, others see a white rectangle or the Spotify logo, and the app does not load any further.

 

The issue seems to appear on different operating systems.

We have good news from our teams - this should now be fixed! We're also seeing some comments that things are back on track again, that's great to hear 🎉

 

If you're still experiencing issues, make sure to give the troubleshooting steps mentioned earlier here a shot. You can post a new thread in the relevant help board here, should this app behavior persist.

Hey everyone,

Our tech folks are currently investigating this issue. Make sure to Subscribe to the thread from the 3 dots menu to stay tuned, as well keep you posted here as soon as we have any news to share.

Feel free to give the following troubleshooting a try in the meantime (if you haven't already):

  • Reinstall the app.
  • Reboot the router.
  • Try a different Wi-Fi network, if possible.
  • Update your TV's software.

The app started working today as if by magic (The same app version and TV software version as when it stopped working). My TV is a Samsung JU6400, the app version is 2.1.0 and the TV software version is 1580.

After seeing Rufusrakus' message, I checked my own app and it also works again!

After seeing the previous two messages, I tried Spotify on my Nvidia Shield TV Pro and it still does not work. Cleared cache, uninstalled/reinstalled, rebooted, and still it will not load. This is has been broken for about a week now.

Thanks to rufusrakus i also tried now - i had previously deleted the app, so now downloaded new, version 2.1.0 from 12th of nov (which is strange because i had unsuccessfully tried updating after that date), and after a very short white screen that disappointed me for a second, it started working and asked for log in. Yay!!! Good music again!
