Playback issues related to the next song in the queue

We received reports that upon attempting to play a song that's been added to the queue manually (via the Add to queue option), the playback stops completely and the play buttons on the Now Playing View become greyed out, thus preventing advancing to the next track.

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

 

We're happy to announce that the queue playback should now be functioning properly for everyone running app version 9.0.8 (iOS and Android) and 1.2.53.440 (desktop). If you don't see the update on your end just yet, rest assured it's coming your way in the next couple of days.

 

To ensure you're running the latest version of Spotify available, it's worth performing a clean reinstall of the app.

 

If you're still having trouble with playback or anything else, you can post a new thread in the relevant Help board here.

When I start my playlists, it plays a single song and cuts to commercials, but after that, the next song never starts. It only starts playing a song if I start the playlist over, but the same bug happens again. I've already changed my streaming quality and tried off both Gapless Playback and Crossfade. This bug happens on both my Windows desktop and my Android phone.

Just another reply for exposure. I have a free plan, using the application on Windows 11. Restarting, emptying the cache, and clean reinstall did nothing.

The new update broke the queue. When you add a song to queue it doesn't play it and I have to play a playlist to get music playing again (and also remove the song from queue). I downloaded an older version of spotify and it worked until it forced me to update, and then the problem came up again. It's been like this for a good few days. FIX THIS NOW! it's really flipping annoying...

Same Problem here. Was not the case on windows till yesterdays Update. I hope this gets solved soon.
