Popular songs can't be played on artist profile

We've received reports from users unable to play songs from artists' popular songs list on the artist page when using the desktop app. The Web Player is unaffected.

My Question or Issue

I came across an artist which I liked and I wanted to check out more of their music. I went to their artist page but when I clicked shuffle play nothing was added to the queue to play. This doesn't happen when listening to other artists from their page and I can still listen to this artist by bring up their particular albums so I'm at a loss. The artist in question is Qouinn.

I have the same issue, but not only for that artist. When trying to shuffle play from other artists like Clarion or Her Words Kill, nothing plays. It also deletes my queue and says, "Add to your queue," even if I already have a queue going. This is also the same when I try to play songs from the top 10 popular songs from that artist. However, I only have this issue on my desktop app (it works on the web and my phone).

I am also having this issue and cannot play certain artists (I have noticed this with two so far). When I play the artist on my phone which works and then switch over to my laptop it continues, but as soon as the song switches or I restart Spotify it deletes the queue again. Playing the songs from another source like a playlist still works.

First up, have you tried performing a clean reinstall of the app to see if it makes any difference, or any other troubleshooting step?

 

If this doesn't do the trick, please make sure to send over the links to the profiles of the affected artists so that we can check from our end, along with the make, model, OS version and Spotify version of the affected device(s). 

 

It'd also be helpful if you could send a screen recording of what you're seeing from your end. You can attach it to your next response or upload it to another platform like YouTube or Google Drive and send a link to it. Make sure to hide any personal or sensitive information, and to give it the relevant permissions if you decide to upload it somewhere else.

Yes, I had it downloaded from the Microsoft Store at first, and then tried to see if installing it from the website would work instead, but it didn't. I even tried resetting the app and repairing it, too.

 

The affected version (my desktop spotify) is: Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.74.477.g3be53afe
