Recently played artists section not updating

We've been seeing reports from users that the recently played artists on their profile are not updating, while recently played in listening history is working as expected.

It sounds like @Ty69 has gotten it confirmed what we all knew along: it’s a Spotify problem, not an individual device problem (the device problem angle was them telling us to clear cache, delete, redownload the app, etc…). But it sounds like the angle they’re taking is that it’s only affecting some accounts (which doesn’t seem to be the case), but regardless, for it to be fixed Spotify will have to fix it on the backend (that means it will automatically be fixed, like we’ll all open Spotify and it will be spontaneously resolved, this is what we want) or require users to update the app when it’s fixed. Whatever it is, it sounds like this fix isn't their priority.


My recently played artists continues to update randomly throughout the day, no set or specific times, just continues to dump a bunch of artists at once then radio silence until whenever it decides to do it again.

i talked to them again and they said the same thing “Hi there, thanks for reporting this. We’re aware of the issue so our teams are on the case as we speak. Hopefully, we'll have a fix soon! We can't say when this will be fixed, but as soon as we’ve got anything to announce, we’ll let everyone know via the Spotify Community. That's it for now!”

This is so frustrating I don’t understand why it’s taking them so long to update us, we’re paying customers yet we’re now on day 5 and no estimated time of fixing the issue?? @Maria what is going on please?

This is definitely ridiculous. Zero communication and hundreds of members of the long-time Spotify community are considering leaving Spotify. Members with artist platforms as well. We don’t want to “start new accounts.” We would all like to have our accounts that we have paid for… spend HUNDREDS of hours into making our playlists… customizing them… getting likes and follows on our playlists from friends… etc. This is a problem that NEEDS to be resolved. We are all frustrated with the lack of communication. Zero time frame in which it could potentially be solved. @Maria ?????

Who can I email about this? Maybe if more people bug them, they’ll figure this out faster. I’m losing my mind. I’ve never had a problem that’s lasted this long.

I’ve been emailed “**bleep**” on gmail. They keep sending the same thing… “Did you try troubleshooting… we are working on it… be sure to look at the community page for updates. Hopefully with more emails they will do something about it (wishful thinking).

Yikes… won’t even let me put the email. Who I’ve been emailing is “support @ spotify . com” but with no spaces.
