I'm having the same problem with the drops. Plays a few minutes, then
multiroom stops working and music only comes out of one speaker.

Must be a bug. Hope they fix it quickly.

I am having the same issue with Spodify stoping while in multiroom mode.

same issue. I have 6 echos, only one drops. It usually drop exactly 10 seconds into the SECOND song it plays. bizarre. all others play fine.

Interesting. I have just two Echo’s set up with MultiRoom and I’m getting an occasional drop. It will work fine for hours and then suddenly drop. A reboot on everything fixes.

Same problem wirh One Of my Echo’s dropping after a few minutes

Deleted the "EveryWhere" group and set it up again and things have been better. Suggest anyone having problems try this.

I lost the whole group once and deleted it, created it again and gave it a different name and no issues since either. Also as said before update BOTH apps - alexa app and Spotify !

I tried that and still have the same issue.

I am experiencining the exact same issue. Hoping this is just a bug and will be resolved in an upcoming update.

I'm having an issue where my "everywhere" group shows up in my spotify app, but not in my wife's. We have an premium family account, but if she want's to play to the "everywhere" group, she has to use my account. Is this because the alexa/echo devices only allow the group to be synced with one account? Is there a work around?

Hello,

To add to the list, I am also having the same problem of the music dropping out. I have 1 newer echo, 1 older echo, 2 dots, and 1 tap (which doesnt apply).

Music will stop playing after about 30 seconds after the second song. Every time. I will stop the music. Restart. The same problem occurs on the second song.

I tried making smaller groups "Upstairs" and "Downstairs". Problem still occurs.

I tried swapping the dots. The problem still occurs in the same location.

The location doesn't have a weak internet connection because it is next to a router.

I really want this fixed. It's is such a must have feature.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

This solution did not work for me.

Every device is up to date.

Each app was deleted and reinstalled with the latest version.

I disconnected and recconnevted the Spotify  account.

I deleted then re-made the multi room group.

Nothing is working.

It did work fine for about a week. (Two weeks ago//first week of January 2018)

I asked Alexa to play something from Amazon music. And since then spotify has failed to recognize the “everywhere” group my devices are placed under.

Around the same time the Alexa app updated.

But again. Nothing is working. And everything is up to date.

I also have Charter/Spectrum internet. So... I doubt it’s a connectivity problem.

Ive spent hours on multiple days trying to figure this out.

Any help or reccomendations would be appreciated.

Bug report it to Amazon thru the feedback section in the Alexa app. Others have reported that deleting and re-creating the group may resolve it, but no clue as to what specific set of circumstances cause it.

Strange. Is your Spotify working consistently on your phone and other devices. If so I would try setting up one Echo on Spotify and see if you can get Spotify working consistently.

If you can get Spotify working on one device, reset each other device and setup the group again. If still no love, better talk to Amazon.

I'm still having occasional problems but much better after reinstalling the Echo's and the group.

I had the same problem, but finally fixed it.

Here’s what’s worked for me:

1- I unplugged all echo devices

2- I then unplugged my router and modem

3- Left everything unplugged for 5 minutes

4- Plugged the modem back in

5- After the modem was back online, about a minute or 2 I plugged in the router

6- After the router was back online I started to plug each unit back in. I DID NOT plug them in all at once, I waited till one unit was back online then moved to the next one till all 4 we’re back online.

I did this 5 days ago and everything continues to work perfectly.

Hope this helps.

Having some strange behavior when using Spotify with multiroom, which seems similar to but sightly different from issues reported so far in this thread... wondering if it's just me or if other people see the same thing:

I have two Echos. If I play Spotify individually on either one, they work perfectly 100% of the time.

I have the two Echos added to a group. If I play music on the group by initiating the playback using Spotify Connect on my phone, the music plays 100% of the time.

However, if I use Alexa voice commands to start playback multiroom ("Alexa, play my suchandsuch playlist everywhere"), I only get success about 50% of the time. Alexa seems to understand my command every time, repeats the action back correctly, and if I look at the Alexa app or Spotify app they both seem to think that music is playing, even though there is no sound coming from either Echo.

Like I said, this happens like 50% of the time when using voice commands, which seems way too frequent.  I've tride unlinking/re-linking my Spotify account, rebooting the Echos, resetting the Echos, deleting and recreating the group.  Anyone else have this issue?

Thank you NYRfan89! Looks like I am back in business. Ive cycled through a couple of songs with no drop out. Keeping fingers crossed it stays like this. Thank you! Thank you!

Yes, I'm having this issue! Now it will play on one echo or the other without fail but will NOT play on the my multi-room Everywhere group. What gives?

Try doing what NYRfan89 suggested a couple posts up. Unplug everything. Modem. Router. All Alexa devices. Then one by one get everything back online.

It appears to have worked for me. However, it's only been a couple of days.

Hi, for what it is worth, I had multiroom and spotify working just fine for several months, recently I had it working on single echos but groups would not work, as previously described, I switched off evrything and deleted my group, all the echos, router, network switches, voip phones etc. Brought the router back up and laptop to check connection. Then switched all the ehos back on, waited a few minutes for them all to come back online, recreated group using alexa.amazon.co.uk in a web browser on my laptop and it all works again, hope that helps someone, was doing my head in 🙂
