I've already voted for the idea to allow a disable toggle for podcasts so I stop getting them inserted into recommended playlists, but how do I block a specific podcast?
The home screen of the Mac Desktop app has become a continuous advertisement for the Joe Rogan podcast, which I do not want to see nor want any chance to accidentally click on. How do I get this trash off of my home page? I'm already not thrilled with some of the podcast hosts Spotify advertises and seriously considering cancelling my subscription entirely, and forcing me to look at this stuff every time I open the app is just abother reason to get away from the whole platform.
You don't shove a whole row of music I don't like at the top of my home screen, why am I seeing a whole row dedicated to Rogan before any of my own actual preferred content?
Lots of frustration on this topic... I can only assume Spotify overspent on JRE and therefore has to advertise it on everybody's home page in hopes of making up for that, so no "never show" or "block" option will happen no matter how much subscribers ask for it, vote on it etc. I wonder how their employees morally reconcile working for a misinformation outlet.
Anyway, how I got around it - "follow" JRE, then "unfollow" it, then just follow a few other random podcasts. I never listen to podcasts but now on my home screen, it shows me the ones I selected in a "your shows" row and I no longer see JRs lie-spewing face on my screen. I hope this does help.
Couldn't agree more with this. Obviously JR is terrible, and I would use this feature on his content immediately, but why in general is such a basic feature not implemented?
I'm headed to Amazon Music, after years of being a Spotify subscriber. I'll come back if they ever fix this, but for now I'm done.
I'm in the other three quarters that still appreciates freedom of speech, so bravo for keeping the Rogan podcast on your platform. It's not about him. It's that I want control of my feed. If I don't want to see a show in my "episodes for you" section, I should be able to click a button to remove it. And, Spotify, you used to let us do that! WHY did you take it away? I have an older Mac with an older OS and I can still DO THAT VERY THING on that older version of Spotify. Just bring back a feature you used to have. Why won't you answer us with something other than a copy and pasted vote for script? Voting that you're not listening too, because EVERYONE wants this feature back.
I want to know how to block the left wing propaganda keeps showing up on my daily list and add Joe rogan to my daily mix. Give me this damn option already. Tired of listening to AP press repeat crao rhars already been proven false ans ignore the news they dont want repeated. Give me my Rogan Podcast ans real news on my daily mix!
You are so right.
I now cannot access content I used to be able to before the artist pulled their content because of this Joe Rogan character who is another purveyor of misinformation.
I do not like the politics of this.
I am trying to report the Joe Rogan Experience for sexism and racism; however, it keeps saying the URI is not supported.
Does Spotify support the sexist and racist rhetoric that comes from this podcast?
It also spreads misinformation that directly leads to the death and injury of people. My question is again, Does Spotify support violence against people?
I want to block Joe Rogan. I pay premium, I don't want this content in my user experience
If Joe Rogan continues on this platform, I am gone. All these beautiful artists contrition to society .
Then there is Rogan ...24/7 misinformation. Stop it!!!
OMFG, yes! THIS! We have a button to hide garbage music by song or by the whole artist, so why are you not allowing us to do this for podcasts? I PAY a monthly FEE for my own carefully curated content, and you people are ramming no fewer than 30 podcasts down my throat every day while I'm just trying to find music to enjoy.
Since you're so obsessed with podcasts, why don't you bring back Parcast? I think we know why: you're cheap and don't want to pay voice actors and other content creators, except your precious little Joey Rogan for $millions$ while nobody even wants him or his BS. Either get your act together about podcasts and consumer choice, or scrap every podcast altogether so it's finally QUIET around here again and I can finally FIND MY OWN STUFF that I PAID to get access to.
I have never followed most of these podcasts you're spamming at me, and no matter how many times I follow-to-unfollow each one, they're still invading my push notifications and screen space. This is not an accident, this is you CHOOSING FOR ME what I see and have to wade through, and I'm absolutely sick of having to FIGHT WITH A PRODUCT THAT I PAY FOR!
I'm about to "Not Interested" my payment to Spotify. I cancelled our family plan when you platformed Rogan. My family begged to get a no-ads account again so I relented. Now I'm getting a large ad for his trash on my home screen in mobile and the desktop app for his interviews with musicians. NO. I do not want to see his face or his name. Guess I'm about to have a dissappointed family.
Yup. Same.
Here's the new deal: every unwanted podcast you spam at me will immediately get review-bombed and I will peronally comment on them wherever they have replies turned on, telling them to block my account since I AM NOT ALLOWED TO BLOCK THEIRS.
Every time I have to see this witless shill Rogan promoted up in my face, I'm reporting the content as violating TOS.
Every single thing you shove at me, I will make it that day's entire mission to punish until you stop. I work from home, have unlimited data on both phones, and I can literally do this all day, every day, without even slowing myself down at work.
Your move, you greedy little creeps.
I assume you are talking about the podcast that has had almost every thing stated on it (usually by experts I those fields) proven fact now? Like when the host was accused of asking people to take "horse dewormer" and now the CDC not only admits calling what he took a horse deformed disinformation, but actually suggests taking it for covid now? That same podcast? Yeah...have fun with whatever you think you are proving.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
